Pottery Barn Kids Backpack Tearing Already

We got my first-grader a backpack from Pottery Barn Kids at the beginning of the school year, and the fabric has already come unstitched on the straps. He is not rough with it--there's no time it's been thrown around on the playground or anything.

Does anyone have experience with returns/exchanges like this with PB Kids?

I don't have any experience with PB but let's face it, things are just not made as well as they should be anymore. I would definitely take it back though. It's way too early to be having problems with it already.

Yes! I don't expect it to last forever, or really even more than one school year, but we are only a few days past 2 months in school so far here. Next time I'm sticking with Lands End or LL Bean.

I had that happen with a PBarn backpack last year. It was I only a week into the school year. I took it back to the store and they gave me a replacement. Actually they did not have one in stock so they fed ex a new one from another store next day. The replacement is still in use.

So last year I had a lunch bag for DD in kinder that tore from PB and they immediately sent a replacement and refunded my money when I emailed them. Excellent customer service. This year I have both backpacks and lunch bags for the girls and so far so good as far as the sturdiness.
