Pottermore ???

It appears that there are a lot of Harry Potter fans on here, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of a website called Pottermore. It's supposed to be up in October, and registration starts July 31st. (Here's a URL: http://www.pottermore.com/)

I'm not exactly positive what it is, but I've heard it's kind of like a virtual Hogwarts. (Like I said, I'm not sure, so if you know differently, please correct me.) It was created by J.K. Rowling to give back to her fans.

Sorry if this topic has already been brought up, but I can't wait to see exactly what this new website will be like.

I spent almost 10 hours on that site when it first announced what it was, trying to get my email through for the news thing...

From what I understand, they'll have the books on the site, which you read, and as you read along, the things that happen in the book will also happen visually, or something like that. You'll follow along with Harry, get your own wand, be sorted into your own house, and so on. There's also 18,000 extra words added to the site, including an entire passage for Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin, which you'll get if you're sorted into one of those houses. You'll meet your own prefect, and follow them to your dormitory.

There's also some other stuff I'm missing, but I'm sure someone will know!

I can't wait until this is finally open. I mean to live in the world found within books created by the author herself, it's going to be so much fun. I've already given my email, I can't wait until I get that email from Pottermore

July 31st is when Jo is going to announce/start the scavenger hunt that apparently will lead 1 million people to gaining early access to the website. It doesn't officially unveil until October, but somehow through this hunt you can "win" a pass to get in early
