We'll be at WDW for the last week in August, and currently have Monday 25 Aug pencilled in as a possible Universal day (purely for the Harry Potter stuff, unless we happen to get any time to mop up any other Universal attractions too). We're staying at Disney, so won't have any Universal hotel perks, and we would drive over.
I'm getting the impression that although it's busy, it's perhaps not quite the same madness as the original Wizarding World opening, and that people are at least able to get inside Diagon Alley without too much of a wait already. We never really queue for more than about an hour for anything, and generally a lot less than that if the queue is outdoors (but we would make an exception for indoor ride queues in this case).
From current trends, do you think it might be realistic for us to hope to do both the Gringotts and the original Forbidden Journey rides, plus the Hogwarts Express in both directions, and eat in the Leaky Cauldron and see the various shops/etc in Diagon Alley in one full day by then? We don't care about roller coasters, and are not bothered about the wand-choosing ceremonies etc, but would like to try to see all of the new immersive stuff and maybe fit in Forbidden Journey too.
So, is it likely to be possible or not - and any suggestions as to a plan for non-Universal hotel guests? I know how crowds work at Disney, but Universal is more of an unknown for me.

); so that looked like a good compromise time when the crowds might hopefully be a little slower. I know it won't be slow, but hopefully, it won't be super crowded either.
down here, could you all stop reminding me that school starts again soon!!!!
