I have a set of Farberware that we received as a wedding shower gift 18 yrs ago now, lol. Mostly, the 3 pots w/lids are all in good shape. The frying pan is also still good. I do need to get something to clean up the bottoms as they are sort of scraped up looking. Any suggestions for cleaning?

I am interested in getting an additional set possibly with nonstick interiors. My Farberware set included a limited lifetime warranty although I'm not certain what that means considering I couldn't begin to even guess IF I ever had a receipt much less where it would be now! Has anyone ever had to return or replace a piece of Farberware cookware? How? Since I've had good luck with Farberware, I'll probably stick with that for new ones as well. Would the nonstick finish pans also come with a lifetime warranty? I cannot imagine how that can really last since I've periodically gotten frying pans w/nonstick and they generally begin to peel after a year or so? Does anyone have any recommendations either for or against Farberware? Is there another I should consider instead? I'm looking to stay in the <$500 range for an 8 or 10 piece set.

There seems to be lots of opinions on the CB so I figured it was worth a shot asking here. My dh couldn't really care less, lol.

I bought a set of calphalon non stick at Kohls about a year ago and really love them. They were under $500.00 and have glass lids. You cannot put them in the dishwasher but I didn't put many pans in it anyway so it's no big deal for me.

I have all hand-me-downs from my mom/DH's mom.

we didn't even register for new cookware when we got married...I like what I have.

it's all mismatched stuff...not even sure of the brand...but it works well for me!

I have a set of Calphalon Proffessional Hard Annondized and absolutely love them!!! I've had them for 2 or 3 years now and they are wonderful. Even thought they aren't actually "non-stick" I've never had a problem w/ anything stickingto them.

I have a stainless steel Emeril set and I love them. I haven't had any problems with sticking or anything like like and they weren't that expensive(around 200 for the set).

Forgot to add I've owned them for almost a year.

My pots and pans are all Le Creuset - blue ones. They are quite expensive so I have added to my collection over time (mostly during the new year and summer sales!!) I started buying them about 8 years ago and am still adding to my collection of them.

We have some of our wedding Farberware set left and some other brand that has really seen its last legs. DH just asked me last night if I wanted to get new cook-ware with his "bonus points" at work. I said YES! Again, not sure of the brand because I only saw them on the computer and didn't look closely. Know they were around $380. Can't wait!

This sounds just like our set. We got them as a wedding gift six and a half years ago and they still look like new. You can put the glass lids in the dishwasher, but not the pots/pans. They are easily washed, though.

I'd highly recommend them! :D

We have a Simply Caphalon set, got it as a wedding present 2 years ago, and it's great! You have to handwash hit, but things slide right off of them... we've bought additional pieces on occasion to add to it (like extra 3 qt pots and such). Our set was $200 at Foleys, they carry them everywhere, it seems.

I have copper bottomed Reverware that we got when we bought our first townhouse, 15 years ago. I don't love them or hate them, just use them. I do NOT use the frying pan though, it is not non-stick. I have a couple of non-stick fry pans I have bought at Kohl's and Target, I am not sure what they are. I have thought about replacing my Reverware with a non-stick set, but have never done it.

I do have a non-stick pasta pot with the lock on straining lid (not the cheapy one you can get on TV) and I LOVE that!!!

My pots and pans are the line that Tupperware is now selling. They are awesome. Before that I had odds and ends from everywhere.

I have Belgique stainless steel. LOVE them and have been using them 11 years. A set of anything with glass tops would not work for me. I'd break them in no time. LOL!

I've been buying the Circulon from Kohl's (on sale) for about 3 years now, and we love them. Bit less expensive than other upscale brands, and I think they are the same quality. The non-stick surfact isn't flat but ridged, and after 3 years we've had none of it flake off. Great set of pans. Now if I could just save the $ to get good knives...

I have Wearever Hard Annondized and have had them for atleast 10yrs maybe a few more. They are great, never any problems.

I have a set of Calpholon that my mom bought for me when we moved into our house. I like it, but thinks it's a little heavy at times & the handles get HOT, HOT, HOT. You must use a pot holder when picking it up, DH always forgets and picks it up with his hands - it's funny, I yell "STOP!! IT'S HOT" and at the same time he says "OUCH S*#T!" You'd think eventually he'd learn:rolleyes:

I've got the copper bottom Revere ware. I've had it about 10 years. Still holding up fairly well, but I want new stuff, particularly all oven proof pots & pans (the Revere has plastic handles).

Those of you w/ Circulon, I have a question: Doesn't stuff get stuck in all those ridges?

We have the Professional set of Calphalon as well. Not non-stick. We have bought other pieces of Professional Calphalon though that has the non-stick surface. We have had the original set for 8 years and have loved them. I have also cleaned them (Not the non-stick) in the dishwasher with no problem because we use a cleaner that doesn't have phosphates. Besides the normal aging, they still look new. I clean them from time to time with the Doramond that they sale in the store for them.

stainless steel and they are 35 years old........plus I just inherited my mother in laws set as she is in an assisted living home now and they are over 60 years old........I love stainless steel.........only way to go

We had Circulon for 12 years and just recently replaced it with Calphalon - stainless. We liked the Circulon for the most part but stuff started sticking to it on out more-used pans after about 5 years. We also dropped the large pot on the floor and bent it out of shape. The lid doesn't fit properly.

We haven't used the stainless much. We bought it for when we move back into our house. But what I have seen so far, I like. We bought it at Kohl's - a 10 piece set and two other pans for anout $250.

Have a set of Club Aluminum from the mid 70's. (According to eBay, it's a collector's item now.) Been using them nearly every day and can't complain. The largest pot actually caught fire a few years back. It was covered in soot and I just knew it was ready for the trash. Not so.... I used it today. Pretty good stuff to survive actual "flames" and continue to cook as well as before.

What I'm lusting for right now, however, is a large ALL CLAD stainless frying pan. It retails for $149.99! I want it but don't want to pay for it. I do a LOT of cooking and have learned that with kitchen tools, you "usually" get what you pay for. I know several chefs use the All Clad but can't help wondering if it's $149.99 good. Anybody here know?
