Potentially stupid wait list question...

Called DVC Member Services but it's a long wait.

Decided just to come here and ask the experts.

If I use my points to make a reservation can I still set up a wait list?

I'd like to add a night onto our January stay but our room category is not available. I'm willing to book another category but it's a short trip so I'd rather not have to move if possible.

You can book a reservation and have a waitlist, but it will prompt you with questions like up to how many days out would you like to active waitlist 30 or 7 days out and would you like to replace an existing reservation-yes or no. They will not contact you, it is automatic so if a match comes in it is confirmed. Then comes the points, do you authorize them to borrow points. But, yes you can book a room now, but when you create a waitlist, it will ask you if whether or not to replace the existing wailist so keep that in mind.

If you do the waitlist under the 30day cancellatio time and you borrow the points and cancel the points go into holding
