Potentially dumb question about WL and the Disney Collection.

I don't want a debate about the most efficient usage of points, cuz unfortunately I agree with both sides (doing Poly this Christmas and MVMCP, only 4 day trip so I wanna be close in order to get everything accomplished; doing SSR in June to get the most out of our remaining points).

We are planning another December trip for next year, as well. I understand the popularity of VWL at Christmas and I don't expect to get it at 7 months (SSR is home). But can we get WL on points in lieu of staying at VWL? There are no points charts available. We're actually leaning toward AKL for next Dec, cuz the resort is outstanding and we've never stayed there. By "we're" I mean "me." I'm the Disney freak in the family. The only drawback is AKL's location for a short trip, which is why I'd like to consider WL as an option. Since this would be our 3rd trip in 12 months, location may not be critical, however.

I'm pretty sure that I've read here that you can't use points at BWI, BC or WL, the resorts that have DVC's.

How about a Wilderness Campground trailer? They're very nice. You could get a boat to MK or WL. There's even a walking trail between WL and FW.

You can't use points to stay at a resort that has a DVC component. If you want to stay at Wilderness Lodge and can't get into a villa, one option might be to rent your points and use the proceeds to make a cash reservation.
