Potentially dumb, confusing and unanswerable DME question

Here’s the plan (still very sketchy). I’m flying to Orlando on business (probably not on Southwest) in Early October and staying at the Airport Hyatt. A few days later, my remaining family of three will fly down (probably on Southwest) to meet me. From there will move on to a Disney hotel (probably Pop).

Will DME allow me to ride? Is DME “admission” based on the number of guest flying or the number of guest staying at the resort?

Thanks.

If you have a WDW resort reservation and your name is on the reservation, you will be able to ride DME to POP. It does not matter what airline you fly and if you stay at a different hotel before your reservation starts. The key is that you have a WDW reservation and ride DME on the day you check in.

You need to change the title of your thread ;) as none of your questions apply.

Each Disney resort Guest is entitled to one airport-to-Disney ride on or after the day the resort reservation starts, and one Disney-to-airport ride on or before the day the reservation ends.

General advice - which doesn't apply to you - when you're already in the area is to find a flight that arrives at around the time you want to head to Disney and list that on your DME reservation.

You won't have to do that; assuming you're all going to meet before approaching the Welcome Center, your Magical Express reservation would simply be made for four people. The only difference between them and you is, you'll be hauling your own luggage; they all will be able to check it through from your home airport directly to the resort room.

Just be SURE to make your reservations before you go - Magical Express cannot accept walk-ups.

You all can use DME if you are WDW resort guests. As long as they are on the reservation they can arrive after you and still use the transportation.

Also, if you are staying at the Airport Hyatt, they have a service that if you tag your bags with the yellow tags, their Bell Services staff will get them to DME so that you don't even have to lug your luggage downstairs. (Don't tag your bags at home, tag them as you check out of the Hyatt)

So really this is all very simple.

Arrive on your flight, proceed upstairs to the Hyatt with your bags, and have your few business days. As you check out of the Hyatt, tag your bag(s) with your yellow tag, hand them off to the Hyatt Bell Services folks.

Your family tags their bag(s) with Yellow tags before they leave home.

Meet your family as they come out of security from their flight and you all proceed down to DME and enjoy Disney!!
