Potential of a Universal Studios "DVC"

I could be tempted by this if there was access to resorts elsewhere (like Marriott vacation club). We’ve only stayed at Universal once but the resort-Hard Rock-was lovely, the walk to the park was similar to that from VGC to Disneyland and it was very reasonably priced compared to Disney. My 14 year old probably prefers Universal to Disney for the thrill rides and my 11 year old is a HP fanatic.

Love Universal but the timeshare market is way way overbuilt already in Orlando. Plus they are building cheaper to stay suite hotels already. All they’d have to do is build a moderate level (Like Sapphire Falls) one with a bit more of a kitchen and no need to go through a timeshare headache (I say that as a TS owner who’s traded into many Marriot vacation club resorts in Orlando). Especially if they would theme it to Harry Potter or Marioland

Well with the new huge property... perhaps?

Haven’t heard anything about that lately (since covid). Any news on that?
It's pretty much dead. My son's friend was an Engineer on that project and she has been laid off without any return date.

Would love an upscale onsite Universal timeshare but only if we could also get the express pass we enjoy staying at one of the deluxe Universal resorts.

Don’t see that happening as currently, only three properties offer it

They do offer lovely, but very pricey, huge suites at the various onsite properties Upgraded to one once at Portofino that was larger than my first home

my thot is why bother Buying another TS to enjoy U? When the weekend DVC point allocation started, we started booking a room at U for 2 or 3 nights. Nice way to stretch our DVC points for additional split Trips
