Potential buyer with questions, specifically about Poly

I just want to point out that your dates, while "peak" for Disney, are not "peak" for DVC. DVC's busiest week is the first week of December. Late September through early January is busy. But, most people who buy DVC realize they'll be going back constantly, and try to avoid the crowds. Availablility should be above average for you dates.

I'm in the process of closing on a DVC resale... is there anywhere I can find a calendar/list of what the "peak" and less busy times times for DVC are? I'm just curious thinking about future potential vacations...
I tried googling but didn't find anything. Thanks!

Or if it's as simple as the times you just said then I'm all set and that gives me some idea :)

It's pretty much that simple. DVC is designed to run at 98% occupancy, year round. Rooms are not "overbooked" like hotels. So, rooms will be full at all times. "Peak" times simply book up quicker than slower times.

Post #4 is an excellent summary.

We just got back from a stay in 2 Poly studios for my family of 4. There is no way I could imagine 5 people (with 3 adults, husband/wife and MIL) in one studio. There just isn't enough room to separate, with the kids, husband/wife and MIL having some alone/quiet time.

The only way I would put 5 people in one Poly studio, it would be one family with 3 small children. For your family make-up, I would buy cheaper points at another DVC resort to be able to book 1 or 2 bedroom villas.

In many ways I see those as 2 peas in a pod. Both very expensive and both only reasonable to buy if planning to stay there almost every trip. As I've said before, I think DVC missed the mark with the Poly, the larger rooms gave them so much opportunity to do something better than the standard DVC studio which is lacking as studios go by industry standards anyway.

I agree with you on this one. That's why I did not buy Poly. I do own VGF but VGF pts are for VGF home resort booking only. I did score one bedroom VGF with SSR pts in last trip.
