Yay! I can do this one! I didn't have a shower (which was actually a bummer to me, but a function of living an ocean away from most friends) and our combined bachelor/bachelorette party was called off due to DH's food poisoning (more of that when I get around to my TR! But it was a BIG disappointment)

But cake...boy do I have cake!!

And from June.

And because I still can't believe how the GF Bakery outdid themselves on this one...the tea party cake!

And now I'm HUNGRY!!

No shower or Bachelorette party for me either but we had cake!

Just for fun, here's the re-creation Disney did for our anniversary:

I'm never on anymore but I thought I would post cake since we had one of the escape cakes- the roses and drapes. We had them do the flowers in orange instead of the pink or red it comes in.

The topper is the Lenox figurine MIL bought us.

Yay cake! I loved our cake! It was like the WL bakery peaked into my mind and made exactly what I was envisioning :goodvibes

Sadly, it didn't make it through the night. In hindsight I should have had them cut it up and given pieces to everyone to take back to their rooms. Oh well, we ate some of it and froze the top for our 1st anniversary.

I still have all of the gum paste flowers in our freezer. One day I'll have to give them up but they still look so incredible!
The top held up well (these particular flowers didn't hold up so well!); I think because I left the fondant on, and it actually tasted really good one year later. I ate 3 pieces of it :upsidedow

We did the same. I kept the fondant on our top layer also and I swear it tasted exactly the same as on our wedding day!

lurkyloo ~ How did you like the peanut butter? I love red velvet! I should have had that. :headache:

thats good news to hear the fondant may help the cake hold its flavor. I keep telling DH our cake will taste like cardboard on our anniversary lol...but maybe the fondant will help it :) We barely ate any on our wedding day......darn....now im craving cake lol

Don't worry, you didn't miss anything! Disney's red velvet is kinda flavorless - not nearly as good as what you can probably get at your local independent bakery! :thumbsup2

The peanut butter cup mousse is really nice because it has chocolate in with the peanut butter! :goodvibes

I just realized I have more cake!!

We weren't allowed to take the cake off the ship, so we had the top piece on the last night

We got a large cake from our head waiter and servers

For our anniversary they did a great job replicating some of the features of our original. They ended up just doing buttercream frosting without any fondant when I asked them to reduce the price a little and that was fine with me because I love the frosting!

We froze some cake from our at-home reception which wasn't until June 1. Since we didn't eat it on our anniversary Kris and I decided to eat it on the anniversary of our reception.

I think I'm gonna try this next time - I can never get enough frosting! :hyper:
