POTC-refurbishment?

I just visited visionsfantastic's site, and it shows that Pirates will be down for refurb from 10/3-12/13. Bummer, as we'll be there starting 10/12, and my DS6 was really looking forward to riding DLR's superior version! Anyone know if this is accurate info, and why it would be down for so long--they don't do a holiday layover or anything, and I thought the general consensus was that they were trying to keep everything up throughout the 50th. I know you can't be there when everything is up and running, but at least I'll have 6 months to adjust to the disappointment. Just hoping...

I have no clue where he gets his info. They don't publicize more than 3 months in advance to regular CMs. I would suspect only manangement and those working on the rides would have that info. And being 6 months out, a lot can happen to the schedule. I'd definately keep looking, as I don't know why it would be down for such a long period this year.

I do hope you're able to ride it. I was so impressed with DL's POC. I still love WDW's version, but without question, DL has the better ride.

I thought I had read something about POTC being down for a short period before the 50th celebration. I may be wrong. That may be WDW. I, too, hope that you get to ride the POTC at DL. Growing up I thought POTC at WDW was awesome, but DL's version is so much better.

While I don't know for sure, I wouldn't think that they would take down a ride, especially a staple, during the 50th celebration. If they were going to do such a long, and planned, refurbishment, I would think they would've done it prior to May of this year. JMO
