PoTC 3 discussion thread (SPOILERS!!)

Ok, I just got home from seeing it... and I need somewhere to talk about this. MAJOR SPOILERS so don't read this if you haven't seen it yet!

First off, I SO called the ending after the credits. But I was a bit annoyed at it... If he was originally dead, then how can he have had a child? lol

But, OMG. when Davey Jones stabbed Will, I literally screamed/gasped out loud and covered my mouth (as did the entire theatre... haha). and then basically started to cry when Elizabeth and Jack were going back to the Pearl.
And I was a bit annoyed at the fact that Will and Elizabeth couldn't be completely together forever and have their happy ending... but I'll get over that.

oh, and Norrington? He was JUST starting to do good again, and he gets killed. By Bootstrap no less. I almost cried at that point as well.

My favorite part? The whirlpool fight scene. AMAZING special effects. And Will and Elizabeth's wedding? I LOVE IT. "Who do you choose?" "BARBOSSA!" haha.

Overall, I loved the movie. There were some parts I would change, but yeah.

I thought it was slow in the beginning but it progressed and became awesome. The scene after the credits was also weird because it was ten years later and they didn't age. I am sorry but that is a long time.

I almost cried on the part where Elizabeth finds out that her father is dead...

Will's character kind of flip-flopped in this one. He switched sides numerous times and.....Idk. Kinda confusing but, I got it.

The numerous Jacks were hilarious! lol. Loved em'!

I (stupidly) walked out an didn't stay to see after the credits!!! UGHHH! It's killin' me!

I hope there's a 4th!!!!

I loved the movie! VERY slow at first, but then it got soooo good. I cried at the scene after the credits, and I predicted that.

i almost cried in the very begining when they were walking all the pirates to be hanged and they showed the little boy waiting to be hanged.
the movie was absolutley amazing. i loved all the fight scenes and of course the monkey he is just so addorable.
omg i totally forgot to stay til after the credits someone fill me in on what was in that part??

I think most of us knew that Tia was Davy Jones lover.

And I LOVED the ending (about Will being the new Cptn) It was sooo unexpected!

Cant wait for the next movie! Its probably gonna be about the Spanish pirate

I was VERY shocked!

I was very happy with the ending because, I felt it left them plenty of room for a good story for a 4th. Left a few things unanswered. YAY! lol


I loved Will and Elizabeth's wedding. Very cool special effects on that part! (Well....on EVERY other part of the movie, too, but lol, especially on that part!)

I was very disappointed with the lack of timely plots in this movie. It was very hard to follow unless you've memorized the other 2 movies like an obsessed fan.
I went to the midnight showing, pumped up, excited in my pirates shirt and sweatshirt. People around us were all dressed up in pirate costumes which made me laugh at how dorky they looked. We sat in line for about an hour and a half until they let us in, the line was out the door and half way out the large parking lot. Great seats next to my boyfriend and his 2 friends. The credits start, just some boring childish movies coming out which I don't know why they'd play them at midnight when the whole crowd is 16 and older. Anyways, the movie starts up, the crowd cheers a bit and immediately I start getting confused. Basically I thought the whole movie was based around Japan, or China whichever port they were at which I want to see some caribbean tropical pirate action in a PIRATE movie.
Halfway through the movie my boyfriend looked at me and said loudly "What the (need I say the next word), what is going on in this movie I didn't pay $10.50 to be lost out of my mind". I tried to explain to him which I had to do every 10 minutes. I myself having seen the other 2 movies a lot since they are always repeated on showtime, or HBO and there's nothing else to watch got confused for some time. Pirates had been pushed towards the younger crowd to and I really don't find this suitable for persons of 13 or younger. There's lots of graphic scenes, such as an asian slave female with her upper areas practically bursting out of her shirt being shot right in the head. Jack sparrow stabbing "himself" in the chest. Lastly what happens to Will Turner.
The rock crabs were just plainly a stupid idea. First Jack licks the rock, and throws it, then it "hatches" and gets all it's friends and they move a boat? Come on now, and how the witch craft goddess turns into a bunch of the crabs after becoming giant and saying some weird stuff no one in the theater could understand.
All and all I give this movie about a 5/10. They should have taken more time into the movie, plot, and script. It really feels to me they just slapped things together in a hurry to release this less then a year before the second came out. Even these fan obsessed people behind us walking out, fully dressed in costume were outraged cursing on how they thought the movie should have turned out.
Sure you can waste money to see it in theaters but I'd advise you wait for it on DVD and rent it, it's one of those you watch one time and say "eh".

I don't know if anybody posted this but they had a kid because when Elizabeth went to the island and Will was like "I need my other boot",they slept with each other and she became pregnant.
