We ate dinner at 'Ohana this past Friday night. The food was excellent. Our cousin Debbie said this was the first night they were serving the noodle dish. It was actually very good. It was your typical lo mein type noodle. It had a sweet sauce to it. But not overly sweet. It had bits of pineapple and sweet red pepper in it. It was very tasty. While I really liked the potatoes, I think this dish complimented the rest of the meal better.

We had excellent service from cousin Debbie and cousin Cliff. For a Friday night, the place was not that busy. We had a wonderful table with a perfect view of the castle. All the food was wonderful. The meats were very moist. The turkey was everyone's favorite. I like that they have the shrimp on the skewers now. I really liked the pork and vegetable dumplings. They had a nice sweet and sour sauce drizzled on them. The salad, which is my favorite item there, was excellent as usual. I wasn't too crazy about the bread, but that's just my opinion.

We've always had wonderful meals here, but this had to be the best one yet. I really liked the changes they made.:)

I'm really bummed to hear about the potatoes being gone, but I do agree that they didn't really "fit" with the rest of the menu. The noodles do sound good. I'm anxious to try them on our next visit. Thanks for the update.

The noodles do sound good, and as a vegetarian I think this is a better option because the pasta could almost be like your main part of the meal if you don't eat the meat. The potatoes were delishhhh though :-(

The Maui pototoes are gone?!?!?!? Oh, no. What's next the bread pudding?!?!?! :sad2: What are you doing to me Disney....

I've never been there before so I won't know what I'll be missing with the potatoes, but those noodles sound really good!

They actually did change the bread pudding a little bit too. They are using a different bread. It has a little bit different texture. It was still really good though.:)

I think noodles fit the theme and the menu better than potatoes too. :thumbsup2

UGH! I dare not say anymore for fear of more changes

I'm trusting you that it is still good...I might not get there this year, so my faith in the bread pudding is in your hands ;) I am trying to make it at home tonight just to have a taste of what I used to know...

Oh, do you know if the skewered shrimp are the old ones they had before the bowled ones?

I definitely hope the shrimp aren't that old.

I want to try this place again...I think it'll be a few trips before I can get there because most of my friends won't eat there.

YES and the green beans with the bacon and onion instead of those mixed vegges.

The stir fried vegetables are gone. It is now just broccoli and pea pods.

I never had the original shrimp before, only the ones in the bowl. So I am not sure if they are the same skewered shrimp. They were very good though. They were a little bit spicy. You still had to peel them though.:)

I read on the Tikiman site that the bread pudding dessert is going to be replaced by the pineapple with caramel sauce dessert. In fact, I have read that you can ask for the pineapple now, instead of the bread.

That's what I think we will do on our next trip if the menu hasn't switched yet. We were so stuffed by the end of that meal that I didn't think we could have eaten anything more but the pineapple hit the spot. Plus, I know my girls will eat the pineapple and they will not even touch the bread pudding.

Glad to hear the noodle dish sounds great. But I hope they keep the  bread pudding.

Yum!

Maybe I'll put 'Ohana back on the list for my upcoming trip. Especially if you can get pineapple again...

Oh no! I LOVED those potatoes! and the stir fried veggies....sigh. I pray that bread pudding is still there when I go in April!:)
