Hi, I'm a newbie here & we're planning our first family trip in Feb 06. I have 2 dds ages 4 & 5. I've heard mention of toys like My Little Pony and Mr. Potato Head where you stuff all the accessories you can in the box for a certain price. Can you give me any info on this like location & prices & characters available. Any similar cute souvenir ideas for young kids that are unique to Disney? I just don't want to spend a ton on the girls and then come across things we can't pass up later in the trip. We're already planning on mouse ears and autograph books. Also are the My Disney Girl dolls worth it? Thanks!

Hi- last time we were there each box was $18. for the MLP we tried to only get 1 pony and lots of accessories since we have lots of ponies at home already.

LOVE the Mr Pot head! each time we go there are different pieces so we are getting a box of new peices again. Buy a MR. Pot hed at Target for $6 and just get the pieces at the store. Be sure to get the arms at the DTD store-they are the only ones that work with the accessories.

You get them at the "Once upon a toy" toy store at Downtown Disney.

Don't know about the dolls but they are on sale at disneyshopping.com

They have the parts in every park and the parkss have different ones. But the best selection is at Downtown Disney. We got 2 boxes at Disneyland in March and got 2 more boxes of just parts last week! If you have a potato head at home, you do not have to buy a new one. Although if your dds would want to play with it before getting home, bring it with you in your luggage. You can get alot more fun stuff without the head in the box.

I love the My little ponies too!!

Don't forget if you get the potato head at DTD, you stuff him/her full of things too. A CM sent me back to put more items in...she said it wasn't full enough! :rotfl: It is all you can fit and get the box closed...we got the unique things like mouseears, teacup, the Mickey balloon etc. We brought one Mr. Potato Head with us, but had to buy one for the other kid! :Pinkbounc

My little ponies too??? Wow!!! I don't recall seeing these last year. Could someone tell me a little more about them?
Thanks!!

They were toward the back where the stuffed animals are located. There were a few ponies to choose from, had different princess outfits and furniture. My DD loves MLP but I couldn't convince her to look at them...she had her eyes on a princess dress. princess: So, I'm no good for the details. I'm thinking she will want them this trip. :Pinkbounc

Ohhhh! My DD will love My Little Pony accessories! We always bring a few ponies with us when we travel.

Yippie! I didn't know about the MLP stuff. Dd will be turning 2 shortly after our trip, and I just ordered 2 MLP for her when Hasbro had the 25% off code, also got the Mr. Potato Head silly suitcase to get ready to get Disney parts.

I've heard that you must put a Potato in the box when you get the parts at DTD, but now people here sound like you can just get parts. Should I get a second potato now so each kid has one, or should I just get the second one at DTD?

Just a tip too, but I'd heard about them before our trip last December and I brought my girls' Mr. Potato heads(just the potato shell) along in our suitcase so we could fill the box to the brim with the accessories! :) It worked out great and they had a great time playing with them in the hotel too!

I've never had to buy the potato ... I just buy parts. Get a second potato at Target and bring just the heads with you.

I did this for my grandkids. Of course my grandson didn't want any pieces until his sister started playing with the ones she'd picked out back at the resort. So we ended up making a second trip to DTD to get him a box of pieces.

That was 3 years ago and every trip I fill another box of pieces to bring home to add to our "Potato Bin"
