Posts of Waitlist Success

I'm thrilled to see so many people posting about waitlist success for their December/Christmas reservations. But it is really making me worry! I have points in the dreaded "holding" account that I want to use the week before Christmas. I can't even try to book this trip until Oct. 18th. If so many people are getting their waitlist requests filled now - does that mean I don't have a prayer of getting something in October for December? I know, I know, you never know until you try - but anyone out there ever been lucky for December with only 2 months advance booking? We can be flexible with where we stay (we'll stay anywhere), but our days are limited. I had even thought if we couldn't get DVC ressies, then we'd stay at a moderate on points - but now I'm afraid that since the AP rates are out - the moderates will be full before we can reserve. This is driving me crazy DVC taught us to plan 11 months out - and now we can't do anything until 2 months out. URG!!!!
