Only a few days short of the 8th month mark, we've had to postpone our Intimate/Escape wedding.

We recently found out that someone very dear to us has been diagnosed with lymphoma. The doctors have said that things are likely to get quite serious in approximately 8-12 months. As there will be a great deal sadness at that time, DF & I have decided to postpone. We're now hoping to be able to get married in November 2008.

Although we both absolutely believe that this is the right thing to do, we are still disappointed. 17 months just feels like such a long time.

Thank you all for listening.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope that everything turns out ok for you. We're thinking about you and your DF. Just wait, that year and a half will go by before you know it :) Stay strong and thankful for each day.

I'm so sorry for your bad news. I hope that things turn out as well as possible for your friend.

I am so sorry to hear your news, dont worry the time will fly by and just remember that your wedding should be a happy time you are doing the right thing.

I am so sorry to hear about this....my thoughts & prayers are with your dear friend/family.

If you need anything....feel free to talk ....we are all here for you

& just cause your postponing doesnt mean you cant indulge yourself into extreme planning!!;) ..sometimes planning is half the fun

sending pixie dust to youpixiedust:

I'm really sorry to hear that. You've made the right decision. Spend the extra time planning and comforting your friend.

im so sorry to hear about you family member and I hope that they get better. You are in my prayers.

Thank you very much jasnal for your thoughts & prayers.

I really sorry about your situation. One thing you can count on is a longer wedding planning process, and you know what they say--once it is over you miss it! I hope everything works out for you.

I'm so sorry to hear! Things will look bright again and I'll be thinking of you and your family/friends.

I am so sorry to hear that someone so dear to you is ill. I feel you have made the right decision and as myprincessgirllisa says, you can still continue planning. I know it sounds like 17 months is a long way away, but time does fly.

Sending you loads of pixiedust :pixiedust: to give your friend and your family strength at this difficult time.

So sorry to hear that. My FMIL was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma a few days ago. They tell her she'll be fine after the treatments of chemo she'll go through, which she started this week. We hope she'll be ok for the wedding, which she isn't too concerned about it.

Thank you all Cinderella22, KStarfish82, Summer-Caitlin, and disneygirl_wdw for all of your support and kind words :grouphug:

disneygirl_wdw: DF & I wish you and your family the very best for your FMIL's treatments. Sending you and yours lots of pixie dust pixiedust:

Thank you so much princessdisneybelle for your thoughts & prayers

You ladies have been so amazing & supportive; I can't thank you enough - you are all the best

Just being able to talk about it has made me feel so much better. And I wanted to let you all know that I will take your advice and continue to plan, plan, plan! I'm grateful to have such a fun project to occupy me at such a sad time.
