I'll be calling member services tomorow to postpone our trip to BCV Apr 29 - May 3.

My stepson was in a car accident and is in intensive care.

We are going to have to reschedule our trip but due to work times we aren't going to be able to go til probably July -

I've never been in July or any summer month - just how bad is it going to be as far as crowds/lines - I know it is going to very hot and humid but how much rain should we expect?

Thanks everyone

I'm sorry to hear about your stepson. I hope he will be okay, and has a speedy recovery.

You will have crowds and lines in summer months, and it will be hot. You will likely get the afternoon thunder shower to help cool things down, but I would think long rainy weather systems are not the norm.

Good luck....

about you stepson. I pray he will be OK. It will be hot and crowded in July, but I know just being there will make up for that.

We go every year in July, and I just think it depends on the year. In 2000 it was extremely hot (90-100 degrees) but, last year it was perfect (75-85 degrees). Of course you have the daily rain shower (ussually an hour or two on any given day). But, you can ussualy find a place inside to stay dry.

Crowds: Not too bad if you go early of a morning, leave for an afternoon break, then go back in the evening. And don't forget to use that FASTPASS to your advantage.

Just wanted to let you know that your family is in my prayers.

Our prayers are with your stepson for a quick recovery.

We went the end of July last year. It was very hot and humid. We made sure we started out early each day, took it slowly, and took a break in the afternoon. It usually rained every day but not for too long. One day we rode Buzz Lightyear 6 times in a row because it was pouring rain, so we just came out the exit and got right back under cover and in line. When the rain ended, we moved on.

You'll be fine. Just know it's hot, and move accordingly, ducking the raindrops (or playing in them). It's all good-it's Disney!

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers - it is truly appreciated - and I know they have been heard.

Looking on the positive side - since we do have to postpone our trip - I have just found out that my two nephews - ages 11 & 13 - who have never been to WDW will be able to go with us on our postponed trip - Our son - age 9 - is so excited about this - he's continually on the phone with them about how he is going to show them this or show them that.

So... this is good.

Glad to see you trying hard to make lemonade with the lemons... I am also praying for your family member's swift recovery. A great thing about June/July is that all the parks are open LATE. You can go early in the morning and rest all afternoon when it is hot and/or raining. We swam every afternoon or just rested in the room. Some afternoons, when there was no thunder, we swam WHILE it was raining! The kids loved this.

It is hot in summer but you are not out in it constantly. I personally would NOT do Animal Kingdom in July. At Magic Kingdom we got lots of fastpasses and ducked in and out of A/C every chance we could.

Hope it all works out well for your family.

I have never been in the summer months, but I just wanted to let you know your family is in my thoughts and prayers. My 12 year old neice was hit by a car a month before my sister and her family was to got to Disney in 2000. She had a severe brain trauma injury and was in a coma for 2 weeks, We didn't know if she would live or die, but God answered our prayers, and she made a full recovery and they went to Disney the following Christmas.

Just wanted to add my prayers for your stepson's speedy recovery. Sounds like you are a wonderful person who always tries to look on the positive side of things.

I like to go in the summer because we spend a couple of days at the pool and another day at a water park. It does get hot in the theme parks but if you go early, take a break in the afternoon, and take plenty of water with you, its not bad. Of course, we are used to the heat and humidity in the Mid-West. In fact, the last two times we went in July, it was hotter and more humid in Missouri than in Florida! LOL.

Maybe your summer trip will be the most magical one for your family yet!

I just wanted to thank you all again for all your thoughts and prayers.

My stepson was taken off the respirator and moved out of ICU yesterday - so he is well on his way to recovery!!!

We were able to rebook our vacation for July 19 - 26 but only were able to get 3 nights at VWL and are waitlisted for 1 more night the rest of the time is at AKL - Concierge.

Once again, thank you all.

I am going in July this year because of my granddaughter. This will be my last time there in the summer. It is hot, humid which I do not mind, but the rain is a bit much, usually rains everyday for an hour or two. I will be there in the winter only from then on. It is not the best time to go, but school etc. causes people to go there for their kids.
