postpone Oct Swan trip to April?

Hi,

I am a family of 5 yr old twins and a 2 yr old (we dont like it too hot but want to be able to use pool)

I have 5 nights free with starpoints at the Swan Oct 17-22 which is sold out due to a huge convention that has overtaken the S&D and Y&B club. I have cheap airfare $200 each on Song. My parents who actually are older and cant walk much want to come along, but I cant get them a room at the Swan or Dolphin, and if I could there are no discounts that week. I was looking forward to food and wine festival although I dont know how much I could do with the kids.

I am thinking of postponing the trip to first week in April, after easter week but before our school vacation. Will it be crazy crowded or too hot? I can get two rooms with starpoints at that time, though I will have a $125 penalty from delta for changing dates and right now the airfare looks higher in April, but I am hoping its because it is far away in time.

Anyway what should I do?

I will be staying at the Swan that week, too. I guess your decision depends on where your parents could stay if they were to join you. The Gartner Expo that week also has rooms blocked at the Boardwalk, as well as Coronado Springs and the other moderates, so you may have difficulty finding anything at that time. However, if something should open up at the Swan or Dolphin in the few weeks before your travel dates, you can still use Starwood points for a free room. Therefore, I would keep trying at the S/D until you absolutely have to cancel your reservation to avoid a penalty.

I have been to WDW in April, and it will probably be much more crowded than in mid-October. I think the temps will be about the same
