Postive Feedback for CBR?

If you remove the Pirate Themed rooms, CBR has the same footprint as POR.

We've had a total of 45 nights at CBR and have yet to use the internal bus. Every time we see it go by, it's empty. :confused3

Actually there are other differences such as the location of the main pool. At POR the pool is on the island and at CBR it is not.

I would not say to anyone to "ignore all the negative reports" if there seem to be a lot with the same complaint. If there are many that are similar then the old saying about ducks should be put to use. It is however suggested that you take *all* of the input that people were kind enough to provide and then see if the circumstances apply to you.

Exactly. I run 40+ miles/week. Walking isn't even worth mentioning to me, so the size of CBR doesn't register. People with mobility problems would absolutely want to take that into consideration, though.

Reviews are a great way to discover facts about resorts, but the like/dislike stuff is all subjective and has no bearing on whether you will like it or not. My example: We hated Beach Club. Posting that on the Dis is like drawing a picture of Muhammad in the Middle East. :scared:

Why doesn't matter, as it was all about us and the things that we hated most people love. Don't give up on a resort because others dislike it.
:rotfl2:

I've stayed at CBR quite a few times and always really enjoyed it. Are there other hotels I like better? Yes. Would I stay at CBR again? Absolutely! We always got rooms in Jamaica and loved them. It was nice to walk across the island to the food court/pool. It made it like a little adventure.

I wanted to stay at POR for our upcoming trip but switched to CBR when free dining came out. Last time I was there was in 1996 and I liked it then but am excited to see the upgraded rooms. I've stayed at CSR and enjoyed the walk around the lake so am not too worried about any walking at CSR. The one worry that I had was the busses so we rented a car and eliminated that worry. My least favorite mod is POFQ which many other people love. Even so, I would have been happy to stay there.

So if staying preferred which village should I try to request? Or are they similar? I read a little about each but figured I'd ask.

We loved CBR. The rooms are nice and spacious. We found the beds very comfy. We also never had a problem with the transportation to and from the parks. We did have a preferred room which put us very close to the bus. Plus because the resort is so big they have a bus to take you around the resort which is great. The pools are beautiful and the entire resort is beautiful. I think you will really enjoy it. Besides you are at WDW and are going to have a great time! I believe we stayed in Trinidad North and that was preferred.

We have stayed at POR four times. Our last visit, I kept thinking, I want to try a new resort and was thrilled that CBR started accommodating families of 5. We also stayed at POFQ once and really disliked it. I think you have to put the bus situation in perspective. Some deluxe resorts have
to go to other resorts to pick up people. When the buses stop at a stop, it's usually quick, just dropping off a few or picking up, it's not like they sit there for 10 minutes. The buses/monorails/ferry can all be time consuming, it's just part of getting around Disney.

We stayed at CBR for our last trip, first night started a little rough with the custom house, not quite Disney customer service at all. After that things turned around, we loved it! Going back in October for pirate rooms!
Kids LOVED the main pool!

Interested in hearing responses to this!
We usually stay at the Poly but are booked at CBR in September in a preferred room. :yay:

We usually stay at Beach Club or AKL, but are super excited to try CBR! Originally, we wanted CSR, but it wasn't available for free dining. We are super excited to try something new!! I know there's negative thoughts about every resort, so we are taking it as our own experience. I believe a lot of the vacation is what you make of it, so we never go into it with a sour attitude, and look for good, even in a crummy experience. We did opt to rent a car (found a good deal), just in case the transportation drives us a bit batty. We aren't too worried about the walking, as we walk an average of 4 miles a day here at home (winter too..and we are in canada!!) since we choose not to own a car here.

I just HAVE to chime in. CBR is a beautiful resort! It's DH and my favorite. We have stayed at POFQ and did like the fact that we could hop a big boat to DTD, however, it seems we don't go there nearly as often and seem to spend most of our time in MK and EPCOT. Our favorite restaurants are all on the monorail or in EPCOT as well. We love the zero entry pool for the grands, and also the Quiet pools which are open late at night after coming back from the parks. I'm sure you will absolutely love it!

I'm stoked CBR now accommodates families of 5!! This is HUGE for us! If you can't really afford the preferred upcharge, what buildings would be next closest?

I found that the placement of Aruba makes it easy to just cross the bridge to get to the pool and food court. Also the bus stop is close. I only wish Disney would start bus service resort to resort, but that's a whole 'nother conversation! Lol

First time we went to Disney we stayed at POR and though it was very nice we just found it ok. Second time we stayed at CBR and just loved it. We were in Jamaica and just had a couple of minutes walk across the bridge to the main building. We got a free up grade to a pool side room so it was great. DH and I walked around the resort one evening and there is no doubt its big so ask for a building close to the bridge. We hope to go again in two years at the end of August and I would have no trouble staying here again it was so relaxing. Only other mod resort I would like to try is CSR just to see and because of the gym. We are a family of 5 but we usually budget for two rooms so we don't get on each others nerves.....3 girls! Next trip they will be 13, 16 and 20 so we won't need a connecting room but would ask for one.
