I was trying to post a picture that I took with my digital camera. I read a thread on posting pictures and it said to click on the "browse" button under the box....I don't have a browse button and there is a little box there that says "can not post attachments". Is this why I am having a problem?

Colleen

You cannot upload pictures to the DIS directly from your PC. You need to upload them to the web first and then link from there. If you don't have any free webspace given to you from your ISP, you can try Boomerweb

If you still get stuck somewhere, just come right on back and ask :D

I log onto that link for the free web space. It tells me that the site is closed due to "abuse" and no new users. Oh well.....I'll have to try something else!

Colleen

Most ISP's offer free web space, I am on Prodigy and we get free web space, check with yours and that could solve your problem. Then just upload your pics to the site and from there click on the picture you want to add to your DIS posts with the right mouse button and click properties, then highlight the url that shows and copy it, then u can paste it into the image thing when u do your posts

Here is one of my pictures from my web site on prodigy (that so far I just use for the purpose of posting here) This is my "kid", her name is Missy Pea. (don't be fooled by her charming good looks, she rules our house!)

Colleen,

don't click on the USezweb link, that's a sister site anyhow, and not that one...scroll down to the bottom of the page I've linked to, and create a new user there. Mind you, it looks like the site's being abused with multiple accounts so I guess there is no guarantee it will last :(

Cute bunny Hulabird :D

Thanks Penny...she is a little rascal, I assure u...but I love her!

Ok, I have found out where I can upload pics on MSN. I uploaded a picture, went to my post, and tried to get it to appear. Only the address of the picture shows ups. I still have a box under the text box that says I can not post attachments. Is that my problem?

No, the attachment things are a red herring, no-one can post attachements to the boards.

I saw your other post, and when I copy pasted the address into a browser, I still couldn't see it so there is something wrong with that.

Also, I noticed on one of the IMG tags, you used a curly bracket } instead of a square one ] so when you've fixed the link, and fixed the brackets, fingers crossed it'll work - don't give up yet! We'll figure it out :D

The problem seems to be that the address you are using is on a secure server. You got the tags just right, but you need to find a way to upload to something that is not secure and also needs to have a .jpg or similar at the end of it's name.

...it is now "unrestricted"....maybe....

This is the code you want to use...

To get this image. :D

Let's hope!

I give up for tonight!

Make sure there is no spaces between your tags and the address of the picture.

Colleen, take a look at your last post, I modified the IMG tags so you can see how to do it for the next picture you want to post. :D

It's there!!! Thank you so much!:bounce: So, I just should type everything on one line, no spaces? I was entering after each line, like I have to do to get clip art in my emails. I'll have to try another one!!! Yoou guys might of just created a monster!!:p

Colleen

you CAN make the picture look bigger, but unfortunatly, because the original is so small, the quality would look poop - is this image perhaps just a thumbnail of the original?

For instance, I've only made it a little bit bigger here, but as you can see, it's all fuzzy and pixelated :(

<img height="100" src="http://sc.communities.msn.com/tn/34/82/TheAFamily/1/1.jpg">

The code Disneymad, the CODE! hehehe

Here's what you need to include in your post in order to increase (or reduce) the size of your image.

&ltimg height=""100"" src="http://sc.communities.msn.com/tn/34/82/TheAFamily/1/1.jpg">

By changing the "100" (which is the height of the image in pixels) to a higher number you will increase the size of the image, going to a lower number will decrease it.

Penny is correct though... :D you will need to start with a higher resolution image to get it to display properly at a larger size.

Hmmm, good point ChrisC, but then, if I <i>had</i> put the code in...you would be redundant, right? So I trust you are suitably greatful for the favor I did you! ;)

Sorry Colleen!
