posting pics

Hi quick question how do you post pics into a thread?
I've uploaded some.pics to.photo bucket and I wanted to do the one where the pictures comes up in the thread not the link.

You really should post this kind of thing on the technical forum but, since you asked and I am already replying...

On the right hand side of the picture on photobucket, there should be a series of links entitled 'Links to share this photo'

Click on the IMG link and it will say 'copied', then just paste it into a post.

I'm so sorry I never knew there was a tech forum.I'm just about to start typing my pre trip report and couldn't figure out the pics.

Haha yes I do know that bit,
However I don't know the correct way about where you post what when.it comes to a live report?
I always read them on here but pre reports etc on the other is the right? Lol

All trip reports (be it pre-trip, during or post-trip) should technically be on the Trip Reports forum. I know Wayne probably disagrees with me about this so if 'live' reports do get posted here, we tend to leave them. The trouble is, if everybody starts posting trip reports here (live or not) then the trip reports forum loses the traffic and the trip reports that people work so hard on don't get read.

I agree the live trip reports should be moved to the trip report board. Would be good to send some more readers over that way.

I think because so many don't intend on doing a live report they just intend on saying there off excited and posting in every know and then they think it's not a full live report?
And then some people end up adding more then they think

When they are titled live trip reports they should be with the rest of the trip reports.

Sorry can't agree. Trip reports forum for me is for past trips. Live reports in the present helping people plan future trips. Something we are all never going to agree on

I think past trips help plan future trips.

Why posting it the day it happens any more informative then some one posting it two weeks after?

Its just how we have always done it, I don't see the point in changing something that works well, live trip reports are the most popular threads in Trip planning, I hope for 50,000-75,000 views for each one I do. compared to the most popular threads in Trip reports forum with very few threads getting over 1,000 views.

So you do it because more people frequent the planning page making your live tr more popular.

My exact point if more live TRs were in the tr thread it would have more people frequent the board.

Possibly, and there is nothing to stop people posting their live reports in TR's to find out.
Personally I doubt I would do a live report if it wasn't allowed in Trip planning, its the only forum I use. I just don't see why we should enforce a change when it works well as it is.

I have to say that I agree. Also, I often miss the live tr's in the trip planning pages whereas I would see them in the tr forum. However, as they say, you can't please everyone

If I'm allowed to throw another opinion in! I've never understood having the separate forum. I'd rather see them all in here. Plus one thread per report not one thread per day. I only have time for one forum and it's this one but I do like reading about people's holidays, preferably as they happen as I think they feel more honest.

I guess it came from when the boards were busier or they just took on the same format as the US side which couldn't cope all in one but I would be of the same opinion, UK side isn't busy enough for it separate, could easily be all in one and then the TR's would get more views. especially if as you suggest one thread per report.

Wherever they are I can't cope with multiple threads per report. It just makes reading it too hard. I like trip reports too.
