Poster-size Maps

My sister got one back in 05 during the 50 years celebration but I am fairly sure they sell them all the time. I would like to get one myself :)

I got one in 06 and framed it. It's one of my favorite souvineers. :thumbsup2

Does it look just like the map you get when you enter DL only poster size (and obviously not folded)? Sounds like a fun souvenier!

I have one from 2005 but it DID come folded. :( Doesn't stop me from clipping it to my wall with Command Adhesive clips anyway, though. :rolleyes1 The map is really detailed, I think too detailed for a good tourist map. It even shows the Parade of Dreams going into Main Street. :)

http://web.mac.com/billlund/iWeb/MouseMaps3/Disneyland Maps.html has some little pictures of maps through the years. I don't see any evidence of any past 2005, so if they don't make them any more that is too bad because I'd love one! (I'd really love if they made a DCA one too so I could put it on the other side of my hall and pretend that the hallway was an esplanade. :) )

Really? They fold them? I would think a poster would come rolled up! Odd.

i got one in january from world of disney. it was $4.99 i think and yes it was folded!

I either got it at World of Disney or the Emporium. It was folded as well.

That is so strange but i guess they consider it to be more of a map than a poster, and clearly, a map must be folded. :thumbsup2 Sounds cute though. I'll have to keep an eye out for it next time I go.

Folding is actually better from a packing point of view. Rolled up pictures get ripped and bent in the wrong spots anyway. Not to mention having to carry a large tube through a theme park. Brady Bunch, anyone? :lmao:

OMG that is so funny...I am dying over here! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I am rolling here. :rotfl: What a funny episode, and yes, the poster tube just doesn't work in a theme park!

oh ....and really a bad idea to roll ya poster up then to sit at the front of splash mountain ? ;)
instant paper-mache ? :lmao:

Btw, I bought one yesterday, so they're still around. It's folded in a cellophane wrapper, costs $4.95 + tax.

Good to know it comes in a Splash Mountian proof package. :)

I think I'll have to look into those maps next time. Sounds fun to look at between visits.

They're not all folded! I got a big DCA map the year it opened, and it was rolled and wrapped in plastic! I don't remember where I got it, but it is so much nicer than all the folded DL maps I have. I have never seen a non-folded DL map.

Thank you! :flower3: So I'm not completely crazy for assuming that it would be rolled instead of folded. I was starting to regret my comment about it not being folded. LOL I wouldn't want any kind of Brady Bunch fiasco at DLR but rolled makes more sense to me if it's supposed to be a poster. If it's supposed to be a map and not so much a poster, then folded makes more sense. Well, either way, it sounds interesting and I'm going to keep an eye out for it next time we go.
