I REALLY want to stick with it this time. I totally messed up over the holidays and really want to get back on track. I lost 10 lbs before the holidays but I gained it back. :guilty: Now I really want to get back on track. I am not sure of a plan. I did atkins before the holidays. I find it hard to keep up with with my kids always wanting something different to eat than what I can eat. I really need to get some will power. There really is no excuse. I can not live an unhealthy life style when my kids need me.

Thanks for reading! I hope to get to know you all.

Hi Bobbie Ann,

Ok, right now- Throw out all those bad thoughts about messing up over the holidays. Today is a new day and is the first day of the rest of your life. You can do this! Being here on WISH is such a wonderful thing. So few people have a support group like WISH! Use it to tap into all you are capable of. You can do it!!

First- Take it slow. Slow baby steps! One day at a time! Don't think about next week just worry about what you will do today. Dont' try to add too many things to your plate. Save exercise and the harder stuff until you get the hang of eating right.

As for a program, I find Weight Watchers very easy to follow with a family. I eat whatever we make but you learn to adapt new recipes and lower fat stuff into your life. I still eat pizza at least once a week (hey I'm having pizza for lunch and dinner today - two pizza parties today) and I'll have pizza with my family on Friday night. I just learn to plan ahead and use my points wisely so I'll have enough to eat things like pizza. I made it to goal last year and I did it eating all my favorite foods. In fact most people give up things like Peanut butter while dieting. I have PB every day! You just make it work! It really is a great program. If you decide you want to try it, PM me and I can give you the info for the program. The key is finding something that works for you and that you can live with for a lifetime. No program is right for everyone!

Good luck and make sure you post often.

Bobbie Ann, welcome back! We all fall off the healthy living wagon now and then. The point is that you're back and ready to try again - good for you!!

I agree with Melanie - baby steps!! Make some small changes and when you've made them into habits, make a few more small changes. You'll be surprised at how quickly those small steps add up to big losses!

You may want to consider South Beach - it's a low-to-moderate carb way of eating and more family-friendly than strict Atkins.

Best wishes and keep posting!

Thanks for all the well wishes and positive thoughts! I will look into the different plans and try to see which will work best for me. Thanks for all the info. My Mother did Weight Watchers and did a great job while she stuck with it. Now she is just about back to where she was. :guilty: My Biggest down fall is snacks like chips and M-n-M's and Fried chicken of any kind. I went to the grocery store and did not buy any junk food. I did buy lots of fresh fruit and vegtables though. :D I really, really, really want this to work! I really think it will help to have a place to go for support! Thanks again!

Hi Bobbie Ann!
Sounds like you already made some good choices with your grocery shopping! Many of the plans that people are doing here would work for your family, I think it helps to see what you like to eat and how you can incorporate what you like with a lifestyle change. Whether that is thru a low-card eating plan or something like WW would depend on what you like to eat and will be happy eating! :D

Just wanted to say "hi!" & welcome!

My Kids like typical kid fods. Mac and Cheese, French fries, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza. They are big on Potatos, noodles, rice, pasta, perogies. We are alway on the go . Last night wasn't so bad. We had Bonless skinless chicken, with fresh steamed veggies and salad. I had BBQ sause for the boys. My Kids love fast food and some nights it is just easier. That will be a hard one to overcome.
DH and I are Booked at POFQ for a few nights alone after our trip with the kids and I made a deal with myself that if I can stick with it and lose so much and don't lose track of my goals I will up grade us to a delux. I know this might sound childish but it is something I really want and I feel I can earn. I want to deserve it.

Thanks for all the replies.
