Postcards from Castaway Cay

I'm wondering...just exactly how long *does* it take for postcards to arrive from Castaway Cay?!?!

We were on the May 2 Wonder and mailed several cards on May 4 from Castaway Cay. (Paid more, too, because they were "big" cards.)

It has been two and a half weeks and *nobody* (in three different states) has gotten their cards.

I understand that generally postcards take longer than other mail, but come on! It only takes two weeks to get something from Australia, and that's half-way around the world. The Bahamas is only a couple hundred miles away!

Is a super long wait normal, or should I just write it off a $25 lesson in poor foreign postal services?

our family didn't see them until more than 4 weeks later. In February from our Jan 16 visit to CC.

Our April 20th cards began arriving last week, May 15th. So that would be 25 days. Remember, everything goes slower in the Bahamas Mon!

I would guess that it has to do with when the mail is transported from CC. I would think that it's probably not done more than once a week, if even that often. Anybody know? Does the Bahamian mailman ride up in his little everyday @ 3 and 6 for pickup? And why is there a post office on CC anyway?

I asked someone how long it would take to get something from CC, and she said "it's island time, mon."

I just recieved a postcard that we mailed on our April 24th cruise (April 30th mailed) I kind of forgot about it

For us it took 23 days. We asked about when the mail is picked up from CC and were told that the postal service only sends a postal worker to CC when the ships are there - three days a week. When the postal worker leaves, they take the mail with them back to the bahamian island that they came from.

After that - they're on island time.

The ones that we sent began to arrive about 2 weeks after we sent them. It was kind of funny because everyone received them within a day or 2 of each other (5 different familes) and ours didn't arrive until 2 weeks after everyone else. I sent us a welcome home on for our scrapbook. So, they were all mailed together and some took 2 weeks and 1 took 4!!!
