Postcard from WDW!! (Julie & Susan) UPDATED - Lots of great pics!!

Welcome home, Julie ! :wave2:

Can't believe you've gone and returned already. I really need to check out this "Tonga Toast". Some of the best things I've tried at Disney are due to people talking about them on the Boards. You know, like Dole Whips !!! ;)

Can't wait to read your report ... 'cause you ARE doing one ya know !

Welcome Home Julie! Sounds like you really enjoyed yourself and it was so nice that you went down with fellow DIS'ers too!;)

Would love to hear all about your trip when you have time.:D

Welcome home!!! Glad that you had a good trip and now while the laundry is drying you can write your trip report (since you've already cleaned the kitchen & bathroom and I long ago decided that men/boys just don't see dirt in these two rooms. :teeth: )

We want to know exactly what you did and when!

We were deprived of the boards for weeks (ok only a day but it sure felt longer)!

More pictures calls for another dismeet too!!!

LOL, I'll see what I can do but Susan and I will have to compare mental notes and get our pictures in order because right now everything is a jumble in my brain. ;)

Welcome back Julie and Susan, glad to hear you had a great time.

How did you like the french quarter, I think that is where I read that you stayed. Was the heat unbearable?

Deb.

What was at the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall and of course Belz if you made it there!LOL

Anything Note Worthy?

They look like they're having the best time. Wish I was there!!!

Janet, at OPOM, there was a new display of discounted Disneyland birthstone pins for $3.99, reg. $8.50. It was of Minnie in a sparkly evening dress in a birthday colour holding a birthstone. I just bought one to keep, in my birthday colour.

Deb, we really enjoyed our stay at POFQ. Our room was gorgeous! We felt like we were in a deluxe. Lucky for us, we had a location in Building 4 that was right next door to the main building so it was really handy for getting our mugs and popping over to the food court. The bus transportation was excellent, too! I think the heat and humidity began to wear us down by the end of our trip. I know I felt energized when I came home from my March Break trip but I am still tired after being home a few days from this trip. Of course, this trip was twice as long too! We did have a couple of days and evenings that were more pleasant due to overcast skies and a bit of rain.

We had a great time Peggy. Too bad we had to come back to reality! :sad1:

Glad you had a great trip!!
We missed you guys!!

:sunny:

Kitchen sink... kitchen sink... kitchen sink..... ;) (pretty please? with ice cream on top?)

Great to have the Babes back! :p :D

Hi everyone.

Thought I should finally pop in & reply to this thread. I've been working since the minute we got back with some clients who actually called me on my cell while we were in Florida (at TL to be exact. ) I guess I shouldn't complain though because I WAAAAY overspent this trip and have another trip to pay for shortly.

As Julie said, we had a great time. I thought two weeks would be plenty of time to enjoy WDW but it still wasn't long enough and it was very sad leaving. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get to slip in a short trip in October with a friend, but for now, focussing on our March trip is keeping me going. ;)

The drive down was great. I've driven the I81/I95 route (3x), the I77/I79/I95 route (2x) & now the I75 route. I prefer the I75 route by far...fewer trucks, six lanes for a good portion of the trip and we just seemed to sail right through both there and back (one or two small delays but nothing major). I was amazed at how quickly time went by...Dave Hunter's "Driving the I75" book is great!

We absolutely loved the POFQ and DD & I now have a new favourite resort. ::yes:: (the GF is still our absolute favourite but we probably can't afford to stay there again for a while). The POFQ is beautiful, very compact, has great bus service (shared with POR but 1st to be picked up & 1st to be dropped off), a great food court, and it's just a hop, skip & a jump from POR. We'll probably stay there again in March before our cruise and we can't wait. We also enjoyed our stay at POP. It has "in your face" theming but is very cute...I haven't heard David Cassidy belting out "I Think I Love You" since I was a teeny bopper...that brought back some memories. ;)

This was DD's & my third trip in July and we couldn't believe how crowded it was...unbelievable. We still managed to get everything done though...saw Spectro & Wishes several times, Mickey's Jammin' Jungle & Stars and Motocars Parades once and Illuminations and Fantasmic twice. Our last day was spent at MK...CP for dinner (which was the best meal I've ever had at CP...we do it every trip so DD can see Tigger) followed by Spectro & Wishes. It was so sad leaving MK that night. Julie and I kept stopping every two seconds to take last minute pictures and my DD was getting a little impatient with us...teenagers. If it hadn't been for DD I'm sure Julie & I would have been there still snapping pictures when E-Nite ended...we would have waited until they noticed we didn't have wrist bands and kicked us out. ::yes:: BTW..."we" ;) took over 2500 pictures on the trip. I'll have to see if I can find somewhere to post some of them if anyone is interested...any suggestions? We got a few great ones of the Kitchen Sink...or at least I did ;)...someone didn't always bring her camera with her. ;) ;) It was worth the experience (& pictures) but WOW...what a lot of ice cream.

Well that's it for now. I'm not great at trip reports (and it seems neither is Julie) so these posts will have to do. If anyone has any questions though, I'm sure we can answer them.

LOL no Kim...I loved :worship: Donny Osmond but I do remember David Cassidy and how much all the girls liked him (I have to admit though that I did have a few Partridge Family albums just the same ;)). Hearing all the ABBA music brought back memories of my University days and DD was totally embarassed :earseek: when we were walking down the corrider one day and I started doing "The Hustle". Hearing all that music that I haven't heard in such a long time was really cool. ::yes::

I kind of had a thing for Bobby Sherman.....:o

Oh my gosh....I'm really dating myself now..lol. :o :jester:

Hi Susan:

Glad you had a great trip, we loved the french quarter as well when we went down in april. The rooms are so pretty. Just wondering if you like the heat, as I have a tough time of it and I often wonder if I could take the summer. We did the end of september once, and it was pretty hot then, but I was a tad younger.

I sure do remember david cassidy and the partridge family, and bobby sherman too.

So that was your first drive down I 75, hubby just hates the part from hamilton to the us border (403 hwy, he thinks it is boring) that is why he wants to go 77/79 route, cause we are 40 min from the us border.

Bye,

Deb.

Here we are!

Great picture guys. Tell me were you able to put a dent in that thing, and did they announce that they were bringing it to a table full of piggys? My kids(and I) we sooooo embarassed when they did it to us.

LOL Great picture! I love the look on the man to the right of you....look at his eyes!

I can't believe the size of that? Did you all finish it?;)

Susan your daughter looks just like you.....a very pretty young lady.::yes:: :sunny:

Kim......I always had a thing for Bobby Sherman too.:D
You should have seem me at Epcot one Mother's Day when we had 2nd row seats to see Davy Jones! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Great picture! I've always wanted to try the Kitchen Sink ... unfortunately it's too much for two people.

I'd say we ate maybe a third of the "Kitchen Sink". After a while it started to melt all together and we had had enough by then, anyway. It was very filling with all the brownies, cookies, bananas and chocolate bar pieces in it as well as all the ice cream, toppings and whipped cream.

When they were about to bring it over to us, they dimmed the lights and made a big fanfare announcement. A bit embarassing but still fun and we are glad that we did it.
