My wish is that people would learn better trade etiquette.
I really wish that people would not approach you, accept your offer and then back out at the last possible second because they found a better offer.

If the person had not accepted the offer and said "can we meet now", I would not be upset.

If you are not prepared to follow through on a trade, do not say you accept.

I think my pet peeve with trades are the beggars. You go into a trade room and you tell them what you're trading. So what happens? 3 other people ask for everything else possible. When you say you're not trading, they BEG! "Oh plz, I'm lyk so poor bc I suck at games" "Please accept" "PLZ!"

*burns them all with my fiery gaze* Of course, when they're not begging, they're offering buyables or recent buyables for your bat magic. I can't wait until I finish my pin collection. Then I'm turning my trades OFF!

Yep. That's what I do too.

Although, I still had someone (a "freind") come in my room today and start begging me to trade her stuff that was in my room.

I said I'm not trading right now. She kept pestering me and saying plz! "I beg you!"

I said, "please don't beg. It's not pretty".

She then said something that was not allowed in the dictionary.

I promptly booted her and deleted her from my friend's list.

Anyway, the incident I was talking about was here on the forum. I posted in a thread an offer for something. Someone then sent me a PM asking if that was my offer for the item and if it was, then they accept that trade.

I sent a PM and said yes and when can we meet?

Person then sent PM asking if now was a good time.

I promptly exited out of my mule I was playing and started logging in my main character.

Four minutes after the last PM sent to me, I get another stating that person got a better offer and was taking it.

While I understand wanting to take the better offer, the person never should have said they would do the trade and then back out.

I know what you mean, today my friend offered for a sparrow suit here on the Dis for her little brother and a few other people were posting and I thought I would help my friend get the suit by adding a little bit of mine to her offer.

Well that was a bad idea; little did I know that they were exchanging PM's and he had accepted her offer. I had posted on the trade thread that I would add a pirate couch, firewall, and two pirate stools with posts. Then my friend sent me a PM telling me he had already accepted, but had seen my post and said he would most likely take my offer if he got the things I offered as well.

I know its my fault and only mine, and I should have stayed out of the trade but I just wanted to make totally sure that he took her offer before someone offered something spectacular for the suit. It was supposed to be like extra foundation for her offer, and it just ended up making things complicated.

Next time, I am SO going to PM her before I go posting around and giving away all of my things. I like to gift things to people, and build a strong trust between my friends on VMK. But there is a fine line drawn when somebody accepts an offer and then realizes they can take advantage of someone trying to help out their friend and promptly changes their mind.

So now I'm really kicking myself!

Yup that always happens to me.
They would ask "Is your teleportation magic for trade"
Me: "No"
-Puts up a ton of buyables.-
Me: "I said no."
"But I'm poor, me need credits and rare!!"
-closes trade window-
-person asks again-
-I ignore-

So it goes on for a little bit longer with that conversation.
