Does anyone know why the Happily Ever After Cake is so much per person? It's such a plain cake except the words and maybe the piping around the bottom. How can that be $12.50 a person and other more elaborate cakes be $8.50 - $10.50 a person?

British cakes are pants! Horrible stale spice cake, disgusting marzipan and icing you could break your teeth on.

Quick question- I really do not like fondant and I do not want a cake with it on it for our wedding. Did anyone have a non-fondant wedding cake- perhaps butter cream instead? If so what did your cake look like? I am looking for non-fondant inspiration

SambyCat had a no fondant wedding cake. She's post #817 on this thread on the previous page. It turned out really cute/beautifully. Her Groom's Cake was incredible.

Is it the taste or the appearance you object to? Because there is always buttercream underneath the fondant to adhere it to the cake—people don't usually eat the fondant.

Our main wedding cake was buttercream for that reason. Look for sambycat a few pages back and see our teacup cake. It was lovely!

I love how everything went together on your top cake, all the way down to the stand. I think the shoe still looked beautiful on top The FSU cake was great too. My husband and I went to the University of Michigan and incorporated our fight song when we came into our reception. I love seeing little touches like that at weddings.

I loved also love the Florida state touch with the gator from SheriBerry's post too.
