Post Your Wedding Cake

The smallest guest count Disney will do for the Grand Royale is 3 tiers with the small version of the castle cake topper, for 85 people, at $16/person. So that's $1,360. (The cake in the picture feeds 320 people!)

A full sheet cake costs $120 and serves 100.

Sorry to disagree, but the cake in the picture only serves 260. This was the original Grande Royale from 5 years ago. The current example at Franck's serves 320, but the configuration is different. The cake shown has a single tier as the base, and the current version has 5 smaller cakes supporting a single larger round tier.

Also, the picture shown is misleading, it is quite distorted.

Lastly, the Grande Royale can be made into many configurations. It has been done in a 2 tier, once as a single tier using the larger white chocolate castle, and once in the Bridge to Happiness set up using the smaller castle.

I posted our Mad Hatter cake from our Disney wedding earlier in this thread, but we had our at-home celebration last weekend and decided to splurge on a second wedding cake. We loved it so much I thought I'd post it in this thread as well.

DH's favorite is Wall-E, so after we chose the design we wanted on the cake I went back to the baker and asked her to do a little surprise for him...

I wish I had thought of this for the Disney cake. I'd love to see what they'd do with the idea!

LOVE it! I especially love that Mo is down there cleaning up Wall-E's tracks! :rotfl:

Oh my gosh that Wall-E cake is so adorable!! What a fabulous idea to have the tracks like that.

AWESOME cake Bridget! It's SOO cute! I have to agree....Mo is the "icing on the cake". :goodvibes

So I haven't had my wedding cake but here's how it's my Chanel inspired cake (to go with my vintage paris theme) is going to look just smaller and maybe i'll change it up a little to make it my own

I keep coming back to this thread just to see this cake. I love it!!!

This was our replica cake we had for our reception/picnic

DH's Aunt had it made for us as a gift, not only did our guests ask how be brought our cake home :lmao: but it was equally as delicious as our WDW cake!

What a great job recreating the cake! We have no one that talented in our family....so we are going with cupcakes :rotfl:

Briget - love the cake! What a great job but yes I wonder what Disney would have done!

Wow, there are some amazing cakes in this thread.

I can't decide if I'm excited or disappointed that I didn't see any cakes kind of like what I have in mind.

DF and I want a 3-tier cake decorated to look like the landing dock of Small World. I have a very (*very*) rough sketch. Too bad it's sooooo long until the real planning can start.

Be excited! That means your cake will be unique. :goodvibes

One thing I have found helpful in ordering elaborate custom cakes from Disney in the last few years is to assemble a composite of the cake in a program like Photoshop (because I can't draw my way out of a paper bag). I will search for cakes in Flickr.com that have similar elements and then cut and paste them all together to make something I can send the chef.

For example, this is my Christmas cake Photoshop composite:

And this is what the actual cake looked like when we got it at California Grill:

Pretty dang good!

You might be able to do something similar for your Small World cake using photos of the dock and of other cakes that have touches you like. :thumbsup2
