Post your SW Airfare!

We had to get a early flight on our last day too, but it was ok since my DH will have to work that night at 11 p.m. Have a great trip!

$314.40 for DH & I for 2 round trip, non-stop flights on SW from Pittsburgh to MCO. Leaving on a Tuesday morning at 7:00am and returning on Sunday at 11:40am. Comes to $157.20 each. Not a bad deal in my book.:goodvibes

Non-stops from Chicago Midway to MCO

Leaving Chicago Saturday, Dec. 19, returning Dec. 28.

$93 each leg, so for five of us including taxes and fees, it's $1036. Plus, I had a $50 credit from our August trip, so I got to apply those funds as well.

CHGO TO MCO
Dec. 24th - Jan. 5th $93.00 each way x 4 people, plus i had $200 SW GCs
and i forgot i had $20 SW credit, oh well next time.:teacher:

My very first post! So how do you guys know when these cheap fares will come up? I am traveling in about 10 weeks. Am I too late to get these cheap fares? Tell me the secrets! :):woohoo:

I got fares for $35 each way out of Milwaukee! We are going to surprise our kids with a long weekend at Disney in November. Just over $350 for 4 tickets!

my flights have already come down $10 each leg. I got a $60 credit for the leg coming home but the one going down there are only 4 seats left at $58 and I have booked for 5ppl! :headache: I can rebook separately and it's still a savings but less than a $10 savings. Trying to decide what to do. I'm sure by the time I decide $8-9 is worth the extra hassle those seats will be taken!

ETA~ I decided to try booking in 2 windows (2 ppl and 3 ppl) and it worked! :cool1:

So I just lowered our flights $110 R/T!

IND to MCO
One way Dec.7th $58 . I'm going to wait and book our return flight when/if the prices come down. By waiting until late Aug./early Sept. we usually get our flights back slightly cheaper than the flights down.

Basically, start checking fares - daily. Check Airtran, Jetblue, Southwest websites directly, check Orbitz, Expedia, Kayak - the major travel sites. Sign up for Southwest's Ding! alerts. You'll soon get a good idea of the lowest fares available. Book when the price is near to what you want to pay, then hope for a price drop (depending on the airline / site, you might get a rebate or credit, but watch out for change ticket charges).

If you can fly out of various airports check them all - you'll see different rates. I could fly from BWI or Dulles, both about three hours drive from home, but prefer Pittsburgh, about two. BWI and Dulles are almost always cheaper than Pitts, but the less driving I have to do at the end of a trip the better.

Typically, the closer to your flight date the more expensive tickets get (especially if flights are getting full), but even that's not always true: Southwest uses the Ding! system to fill planes with a lot of empty seats, often within a couple weeks of departure dates. This can work to your advantage, especially iif you can be flexible with your flight dates, since the sales tend to be pretty date specific. Mid week flights also tend to be less expensive.

Airfares are crazy these days. I watched airfares for six months, and finally booked with Southwest on the first day they posted fares for the period Oct 31 - Jan 08. The fare I booked for the flight down jumped $40 within six hours of first being posted - that's how fast they can change. Airtran had $132 each way for a similar flight - this back in January - and that fare is now $89.

There are so many variables for getting cheap flights that it is hard to list them all, but diligence is the best strategy - as I said up front, check every day - even a couple times a day - until you find what you want. Good luck!

Nov 24 5:35 PM Midway to MCO $93 x 5 people
Dec 6 1:10PM MCO to MDW $114 x 5 people--both non stops total $1141

The Nov 24th 6:45AM non stop flight sold out in one day it is now over $200 one way for 5 people.:scared1:

Allegiant air had $79 both ways total with selected seats $991 plus baggage $35 a bag each way-too chicken to try them-Rockford IL to Sanford FL

Southwest from IND 7AM with one stop $58 going down on Nov 24 but with IND/IL weather didn't want to be 3.5 driving hours from home in December. I think the return flight was $93

Airtran had $69 flights from IND and back but again, weather. The only non stop had 3PM arrival-if the weather bad it is totally across country on little back roads DH would want to SCREAM.

:wizard:Here's to good dings to all of us.

Congratulations and Welcome to the DIS!!!:yay::banana:

I wasn't able to book as soon as SW opened up their schedule for September, but I held on and waited and I snagged $89 to MCO from LI for 6 people.....
Now I'm checking fares twice a day for fares out of MCO back up to LI.... So far the flight I want is $129 p.p. Holding out for $89!

Welcome!:cheer2:

I just checked flights for the last week of October and one way from MCO to IND is $58 but the flight from IND to MCO is $100. I'd love to get $58 each way. I hate to fly and we have been talking about driving but DH said he really likes getting there in two hours. I like that part, too. :woohoo:

We would like to fly out of Louisville (20 minutes away) but those fares are always so much higher than Indy, although we would drive to Indy (2 hour drive) and spend the night before we fly out the next morning. So, when we figure in the drive and the hotel for one night, we save about $50 flying out of Indy compared to flying out of Louisville. Not much but DH said he could take that $50 and buy something for himself at DW. :rotfl:

We just don't know what to do.

Originally booked ISP-MCO at $89 each way, which I thought was great.

When the fare dropped to $79 each way a month later, I thought that was even better, LOL.

I keep hoping that one of these days, Long Island gets some of those $59 fares that Buffalo always seems to have. A girl can dream, can't she?!

Boy, I can't get a break.

PVD-MCO the first flight out $161pp I booked it today because the 2nd flight out just went to $282pp

$686.40 for a family of 4 one way!
So far I only booked 1 way because the return fares are $129-$380pp.
I don't understand?
I would love a $109 pp one way rate!

Booked yesterday.

MCI-MCO Dec 25-Jan 1
94.88/each way. For the three of us, it came to a total of $707.40.

We were planning on going Dec 27-Jan 2, but the fare was around $1000 for the three of us on ‘opening day’. I waited to talk it over with DH and the fare jumped to $1515.40 (within 24 hours). I made a call to Member Services (DVC) to rearrange our days.

I’m a little nervous about flying ON the holiday, but the savings is worth it!

Oh my gosh! I am flying from OKC....fares are $197 each way right now. I check about a month ago and they were $125 but didn'tk now they would change so fast so I didn't book. They were $197 the next day. :( Do I have any hope of them going down? I am checking multiple times a day and have seen no changed in a month.

Not as good as I had hoped for flying on a Sunday, but we (2 of us) can do roundtrip from Pittsburgh Dec. 6 - 13 for $484.40.

Booked on Tues and got 59.00 each way so 119.00 RT for 1 but we are going for 2. So its great checked out of Dallas to MCO it is 59.00 but if I go to Austin it was 99.00 each way. I have to drive to either so it didn't matter try checking around like from Tulsa or next nearest airport that flys SWA. It makes a huge difference for some stupid reason.
