I am having a hard time with PROGRAMS... How did everyone do theirs? Did you make your own or buy it?

Post pictures :)

Thanks

I made our programs..it was white card stock with the ship printed on it then a piece of frosted vellum overlayed and secured with raffia

i should have added..we didn't have a program..just a thank you for the plate at the reception..I had no idea what the order of the ceremony was

I made ours. I used the background pattern that was on the folio from our wedding invitations and copied a cool layout I saw in a magazine that's basically just an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper folded into thirds with a little extra on the end. That way you only have to print on one side but still get a booklet. I decided to glue two of the sides together and added a ribbon, so it was more of a booklet than a sheet.

I did the layout in a pro design program called QuarkXpress, but you could also use Microsoft Word.

For those of you who made programs, did you also make or decorate some sort of container (bag or basket) for the programs?

I was trying to decide what to do about that.

I LOVE them Sandy!! I had always thought I would make the Micky head fans but yours are just so nicely done! How did you make that graphic with your names? (if you don't mind me asking)

Here are mine.

I made them out of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock. The inside is printed on vellum of the same size. I just ran them through my printer.

Ours aren't quite finished yet (Don't know if half the bridal party will attend (DF's half) :headache: and haven't picked out any music yet

I haven't done it yet but I am going to decorate a basket with some ribbons and silk flowers. I am going to have my nephew pass out the programs.

The graphic was made by a fellow disbride. Others on here make them too. pm me if you want her name, she was very gratious about doing mine.

Ours were on the chairs with the toss petals. We didn't want to have to designate someone to pass them out or just hope people saw them sitting in a basket. We wanted to force them to read a program! :rotfl:

Ours were a bit different than usual - we had an "entertainment" themed wedding so it went with the whole event. We had bio's for everyone in the wedding party! Act 1 was the ceremony & Act 2 the reception. :)

Oh twiu, wherefore art thy trip report? :teeth:

Oh Lurky.. .twiu is lazy and doesn't come by often anymore. Maybe I will get inspired to do it! I mean, I should give back to those that helped me... right?

Here's a picture of the front.. I wasn't going to do them until about two weeks before the wedding when I found them on a clearance rack for $5! So I decided to make them..

I'll try and get a better pick of the inside up tomorrow...

I saw yours while looking at your pictures and really liked them. I was going to try to do the Mickey Head fans but thought that might be just a bit too much work with everything else going on. I really like yours and was thinking of doing something along those lines. I found program pages something like that at Michaels and they were $9.99. They have a coupon this week so if I get a chance I might try to pick them up.

Would love to see a picture of the inside. What program did you use.

And yes twiu, we would love to get some info on your wedding. Even if you do not do a full trip report - just a few updates would be great.

Thanks,
Linda
