I called Boardwalk directly and asked to be connected to "In Room Dining" and they helped me out.

The Mickey and strawberries price varies from resort to resort and you can get just the Mickey or just the strawberries by themselves.

My cost was about $50. for both (18% tax and a $3 service fee). I think the Mickey alone is about $25. It's listed at www.allears.com on some of the menus of some of the resorts. I don't see it listed on AKL but that doesn't mean they can get it!

Does anyone know if you can get this delivered to the campground? I know that sound silly but it is a resort. I would love to do this for my DH for our anniversary trip next year...

I AM GOING ON A DIET NOOOOWWWW. Right now. Not two minutes from now. NOW.

That way, I'm all skinny and sexy before I fill my body up with all of this tasty goodness.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Don't worry - I was told the same thing. Now, as to whether or not I'll respect his wishes, that's another thing entirely!

Have you ever had a fried twinkie?

Had one for the first time last year ....yummy!

Mr. D: I had a fried candy bar at the Ohio State fair (better than it sounds, lol) but never twinkie. Ironic, a food that is not cooked being deep fried....

Mr. D: Can I ask you a question (or series of questions, lol) about V&A's?

It looks pretty good, from the reviews and your pix. Do you think it was worth the cost? (I'm thinking about a romantic place for my our 20th anniversary)

Did you have the wine add on? I don't think I could do it without that!

You had the Chef's table? Wow. Did that enhance the experience?

Thanks for letting me bother you....

SURE....ask away!

I've always loved what I call "fine dining events". It IS an event because you are talking a 2 - 2 1/2 hour meal, atmosphere etc etc. Do I think it is worth the cost? YES YES YES

I have experienced V&A with and withOUT the wine add on. I am NOT much of a wine drinker (I honestly prefer a single malt scotch before dinner, then water with dinner). Having tried the wine add on, I must say I have experienced some incredible wines, and some HORRIBLE wine, but as I said, I am not a wine afficianato (spelling).

I have dined at V&A numerous times before finally going with the Chef's Table. I "fancy" myself to be an ameteur chef, a hobby if you will, so dining in the kitchen and interacting with the Chefs and learning things and seeing how things are prepared was a truely ENHANCED EXPERIENCE for me.

Having said that....would I recommend the Chef's Table to someone who has never been to V&A and is looking for a romantic spot? NO NO NO. The dining room is the place to be for the first time, especially for something like your 20th!! CONGRATULATIONS!

The Chef's Table is a unique experience. I think people that are Chefs - ameteurs, food-o-philes or food junkies, etc are the people that are going to enjoy it. It is not quiet, not intimate, and a TOTALLY different atmosphere from the dining room.

Having said that....make a reservation for the dining room at V&A for your 20th Anniversary. Make an EARLY reservation like 5 - 5:30, THEN immediately make a reservation for a private boat cruise to view the fireworks over the MK (only costs like $125) and have them pick you up at the GF. After dinner and before the cruise you can walk out to the beach at the GF to watch the electric boat parade.

I LOVE to share my experiences....brings back the memories!

Dinner at V&A for 2 with wine pairing - $300 +
Sand between your toes to view the Electric Boat Parade - $0
Personal Fireworks Cruise - $125
Memories from your 20th Anniversary you'll remember till your 50th Anniversary - PRICELESS!

Thanks. And I see your thread on your V&A experience. Sorry if I made you repeat.

Sounds like quite an experience! My wife (pooh26 on here) and me are foodies. Gotta save up....

Oh, yes fair food! Every year I work at the state fair near here and every year I must find the T Street Pub booth and get my annual fried pickle fix. They take a whole dill pickle with just enough spice to give a wee bit o' heat, sliced into spears, dipped in a mixture similar to mozzarella stix coating, serve with a side of ranch dressing and honey, I'm in heaven and I'm not even pregnant!! :cloud9:

One of the stands a few years ago had fried oreo cookies, twinkees, and snickers bars...those were too much for me...give the fried pickle!! They go much better with a good cold frosty one...beer or soda pop... :drinking1

And Mr. Disney...I couldn't agree with you more about the fine dining experience...it's a couple of hours to enjoy wonderfully prepared food, beverages that accomany it, and great company. My cousin, is a chef, and owns a small place locally so when DH and I were married we decided it was more important to treat our close family and friends to a wonderful meal and share the evening with a few rather than to have a huge thing of a reception where we might get to say "Hi, thanks for coming" and that was it.

We've even turned DS into a fine dining fan. Last year we went back to my cousin's place to celebrate our 3rd anniversary and when my cuz asked DS if he wanted to go into the kitchen and make his own dessert...he lets all the kids do this...DS told him, "Thanks, but I came to be served good food tonight, not make it." Last trip to WDW we ate at the Yachtsman and boy, did DS trash it! He had the big $45 steak and was very disappointed...he thought the steak could use more seasonings as is his preference. Several people just brushed off his opinion because at the time he was only 11...they don't realize he appreciates a well prepared meal as much as many adults. We're taking him to Le Cellier this trip...another poster told me it was better than Yachtsman and his wife is a gourmet chef...we'll see. Another option I hear is Shula's...

Well, can't wait to see more food fotos from everyone!!!
