Ok, this thread is fabulous! It's almost lunch time and I'm so hungry now. I'll have to see what I have in my archives and post some.

I didn't notice, but it does look kind of like a lemur hugging the flourless cake!

You'll love Jiko, it's our favorite restaurant. It gets better each time. I'd advise asking to sit at the Cooking Place since you love food.

May I inquire what is "The Cooking Place"? Is it a table or a counter? We have never been to Jiko and we will definitely give this a try. Thanks. :flower:

Sure :) It's a counter that seats six, usually separate parties are sitting together but you never notice it. We're not fans of sitting with other parties usually (ala Teppanyaki or Biergarten) but it's different here. You sit facing the area where the appetizers from "the Cooking Place" section of the menu are prepared, along with the salads. We always have a lot of fun here, watching and interacting with the cooks.

Forever42, awesome. Thanks for the info. I love to cook, so that would suit me just fine.

I have also tried many cheese platters in WDW. Had a great one at Territory Lounge in WL, along with a good glass of Port. Actually, I could live on cheese alone. We always have at least 5 different kinds in the fridge. ;)

Beach club market place - pastry section :cool1:
from Allearsnet. With this and the Boardwalk bakery I am really tempted to change my ressie to BCV from SSR :goodvibes

Oh holy smokes!! This place is going to be dangerous on my vacation!! That stuff looks delish!

MisterDisney - I loved reading your V&A review! DH and I went in 97, and we had a great time. DD13 would not enjoy it, so we'll wait until she has a friend with us or is off at college before we go again. If we were going to be there June 1, we would definitely consider joining you both!!

Houston, we have a MAJOR problem here!!!!

I think I am going to need to lose 50lbs. before we go just so I can be even when we get back home.

And to the person who took a picture of an empty plate, that's not nice, we need FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

Ok, ok, here you go, just a little tease: dessert sampler at Jiko last night. FH took me out to celebrate the end of the semester and we had a fabulous meal.

What all is on the sampler? How much does it cost? It looks delicious. :flower:

Last year we walked over to the Boardwalk Bakery for desserts. It looks like we don't have to leave our resort any more. Can't wait to go home!! Annmarie

The Mickey and strawberries price varies from resort to resort and you can get just the Mickey or just the strawberries by themselves.

My cost was about $50. for both (18% tax and a $3 service fee). I think the Mickey alone is about $25. It's listed at www.allears.com on some of the menus of some of the resorts. I don't see it listed on AKL but that doesn't mean they can get it!

Does anyone know if you can get this delivered to the campground? I know that sound silly but it is a resort. I would love to do this for my DH for our anniversary trip next year..."

Just be careful ordering this because I ordered a mickey and strawberries which is called the main mouse when I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and they didn't make it so they said they would get it from the GF. Yeah well yah wanna know how much they charged me instead of like $40.00 bucks??? $300.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :earseek: Yes that says three hundred. I am still disputing this credit charge to this day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUst be very clear when you order... get a quote and write down who you spoke with and when !!! I guess since they didn't it make it there , there was some kind of confussion!!!

You can!!! Spoodles on the Boardwalk and the Yacht Club Galley has Mickey waffles. I'm not sure about Mickey pancakes.

Can anyone tell me where they serve the Mickey mac and cheese? DD (nearly 2) is big on macaroni and Mickey right now so it would be a big hit.

Also, where can I get her a Mickey ice cream sundae, you know with Oreo ears?

Mickey waffles, pancakes and ice cream bars will be on the menu for us too.

Thanks for any help! Not long to wait now............ :cool1:

As a surprise for my husband I just ordered a spun sugar giaffe with a chocolate/pretzel fence on a tilebed of chocolate with truffles resembling rocks at AKL to be waiting in the room for when we arrive. Does anyone have a picture of this or have you seen it? Is it worth the $75? It sure sounds it!

Here are mine (some are a little bright):

How do you order something to be waiting in your room? Yes, I am inexperienced!
