***Post Your MNSSHP Costume Ideas***

OK, I have a good costume idea. I have no intention of using it, so go ahead. A friend of mine did this in high school and won a contest with it. I always thought it was hilarious, but never actually did it myself. Her head was the centerpiece of a table set for two. She took a large piece of cardboard and cut a hole in it large enough for her head to poke through. Then she did the same with a small table cloth. Then she glued some cheap plastic plates, cutlery and champagne glasses onto the "table", and surrounded her head some fake fruit. I wouldn't go on Space Mountain with this get-up, but if you just want to walk around and soak up the atmosphere, I bet this would be a fun idea. And if you do it, I want to see some photos!

Ok, Im felling a little better after reading some of you DIS-ers will be MNSSHP-it on Oct 2.. Thats when my DH and I are going too, and now knowing that there will be others that early dressing up for halloween, Im off to think about a costume idea or two... thank god for these message boards :smooth:

love all these ideas!!!

My little girl is going as snowwhite... I don't know for sure what we are going to be yet..... We are going Oct 2nd too! I think the whole board is going then! What fun!

Going on 10/6 and DH and I will be Mouseketeers (Cubby and Annette specifically).

We went there October 29, 2004 and all four of us went as the Big Bad Wolf and Three Little Pigs. DH was the wolf - wore a wolf nose, brown tee shirt, blue bandana around neck, denim shorts and suspenders and brown gloves and spiked his hair. DD8 and DS9 and I wore pig noses, pink tee shirt, red bandana around neck, short denim overalls, pink knit gloves and baseball caps with pink foam ears attached and curly pink pipecleaner tails attached to the seat of our pants. Cheap and easy to pack and we received a lot of compliments. Alot of adults do not dress up but that would not be any fun for me!!

Family Fun magazine has a lot of great ideas for group/family costumes.

I'm going as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I've got the dress, now all I need to do is put some glitter on my shoes, find a dog from somewhere, and work out the hairstyle!

I'm a bit worried, because I'll be there by myself, and looking at Baloo's photo, there aren't too many people in costume in the photo. Do you think I'll feel a bit odd being in complete costume? Can anyone reassure me?

TIA! :)

My sister and and (50 and 47yrs) and 23 year old niece are all going in costume! I wish you were going later, you could join us! We are going on Oct. 30th!

Going for our first MNSSHP!!
1) October 30th
2) Four of us, Sister, friend, niece and self
3) and 4) Sister as Fairy Godmother (she wants to be FG when she retires from her real job.) Friend - isn't telling, Niece - Belle in her gold ballgown. Self - Main Street Trolley Dancer - why? I love them! I will just hang out on Main Street!

This is our first year going, we got tickets for October 27th. Going is me, my boyfriend, two of his brothers and their wives, and his 6 year old nephew and 2.5 year old niece. None of us adults are dressing up, not really our thing. I think I might wear my Old Navy Halloween shirt, and I joked about wearing my tiara that I have. My boyfriend said he's probably going to wear his Halloween shirt as well. I think his one SIL said she's going to dress her daughter as a princess. The 6 year old nephew hates costumes, so I don't know if they are going to be able to get him to wear one.

If I ever get around to making the costume..I will be Belle in her blue dress. DH is wearing his renaissance costume.

I have really enjoyed reading about all of your wonderful costume ideas. This will be my first MNSSHP and I am super excited.

It took MONTHS for DH and I to agree on costumes but we finally did and the bulk of the work is done. We will be there on October 7 dressed as two of the subjects from the Haunted Mansion's Stretching Room Portraits!!

We'll be there Oct. 2nd.

There are 6 of us going - DH, myself, DS8, DS3, my mother and MIL.

Dh, the boys and myself are going as M&M's (last year we went as Santa, Mrs. Claus, a reindeer and an elf). My mom is going as a 50's girl w/ poodle skirt. MIL says she's going as a geisha.

:)

Oct 6
My husband (28) and myself (26)
We're going as Yzma and Kuzco.!

We will be there October 28th. I am going as Grandmother Willow. I dress as a Disney character every Halloween. I have a friend who is an extremely talented seemtress who makes me costumes every year. In the past I have been Lilo, Belle, Ursula, and Princess Fiona. I don't know how I come up w/ these ideas but she goes along w/ me and figures out each year how to make the costume. I try to be a character that is regonizable (is this a word) so I don't have to explain to people who I am.

Next year I am going as Tweedle Dee.

She is also making my niece's costume who is attending MNSSHP w/ me. She is going to be Belle. I wanted her go as Flit (the bird from Pocohontas) but she is wearing the costume for the Halloween party at school the day after we return. I don't think the people at school would know who she was. My Mom and DSis will not dress. Too bad for them. We will have more fun.

What a great idea! Trying to get my DH to agree to dress I am coming to believe will be impossible...

my husband doesn't want to dress up. I thought it would be very easy to go as the Crocodile Hunter (Steve Irwin) and his wife, Terri. We would only need khaki shirts and shorts, but I can't convince him to do it.

Eight of us going on 10/6 - all wearing the same bright orange, Mickey Halloween tee-shirt (castmember shirts we found on eBay last year) :goodvibes
