I may have said 2 yards...I didn't cut the blankets to exactly 48 x 72, I think they were actually a little wider than 48" but they were 72" (2 yards) by whatever they came in as far as width. And yes, they do have to be 2-sided. This is from the download...


To qualify for one (1) Disney ticket, you must submit one (1) 48" x 72" blanket or two (2) 36" x 36" blankets. No exceptions. NO-SEW FLEECE BLANKET: All no-sew fleece blankets must be double layers. You will use two
complimentary pieces of fleece and tie the blankets together along the fringed edges. These blankets go to children ages 0-18 that may be homeless, sleeping in cars, or in homes without heat. Even if the instructions below display using only one layer, you MUST use two layers of
fleece to qualify for Disney tickets. Right now, the biggest need is for blankets for older children, the 48” x 60”, in patterns appropriate for teens.

I have a question for those of you who are dropping off at "one of several" drop-off locations for your blankets. How long before you heard back from someone acknowledging that you did, indeed, turn in your blankets?

I dropped my blankets off at a drop off point yesterday morning. I was given no kind of receipt (I am assuming that is normal) and the woman made it clear to me that hers was just a "drop-off point". She was busy with customers for her business and was anxious to get back with them. I gave her a piece of paper with my email address on it and she put it in the top of the first bag and tied the handles of both bags together and closed them. She said this would identify me to the person in charge. We made sixteen blankets. I came home and emailed the lady in charge and told her how I dropped off the blankets and would wait to hear from her on what to expect next. My blankets were not due until mid-March, so I was dropping off early--which is allowed. I did have someone take a photo of me in front of the drop off location holding two bags of blankets--one blanket opened to show the work. I hope if there is any doubt that this will serve as proof that we fulfilled our end of the bargain--seeing as there was no receipt given.

Anyhow...just wanting to know when it might be expected to receive some kind of verification that my blankets were received. Thanks!

From what my Linus person said: When you signed up there was a due date listed. When the due date comes up an email is sent to the project manager and they close it out at that time. I got mine in early and I was able to go in and change my due date to that day. Got it in within a few days.

We made ours for the SW CT chapter that required 1 blanket per person. We actually made 2 per person since I had some extra fleece. After figuring out the best way to make them with the first, it took me about 45min-1 hour per blanket between cutting and tying. We had to do double layer fleece.

I think I am going to have my Brownie Troop make them next year for our community service project. We are always looking for a project that will help other children.

Are the vouchers good for only the magic kingdom or can you use them for any park? Thank you.

The vouchers are good for any park (except during the black out days) and they CAN be upgraded! We're using ours toward an ap.

We're making our blankets this weekend and I'm dropping them off Friday. Our chapter is requesting no more blankets! I'm glad I registered early. Ours requires action photos of each person making them, single fleece at least 1 1/2 yards x 60" I got 2 yards of each pattern.

I do NOT have a seam ripper, has anyone made them using scissors? I think that might be a pain and I might need to run out and get a seam ripper (for the slits to loop the fringe through).

I've made the bunny ear version using just scissors before. My hand was very tired after cutting all the strips and snipping the slits, but it is do-able.

got one an Hancock for $3...they have 'em at Walmart for the same. SO much easier!!!

Did you look on the Project Linus Idaho site? They showed some other methods in addition to the fringe. I'm assuming you could use any of those methods since it's the same organization....

This is our 8 blankets that we made for GADGAD. The 3 fleece ones I did a machine blanket stitch around then did appliques so there wouldn't be anything rough on the babies. 2 are tied quilts, the kids did the tying, and 2 are hand quilted. The blue one in front is knitted. We got our vouchers today I was so afraid that something would go wrong! Brenda
