Can I ask what photo editing software folks find easiest to use ? I'm after the monochrome background/colour highlight effect a lot of these photos use.

Have you tried photoshop? If you google photo editing software you should be able to find one that works well for you

Photoshop costs loads though and I dont need the whole package. I found a couple of freeware ones I'll have a play with

theres an app on iphone called photo wizard which is a piece of cake to use.

did you edit the colour of the castle before posting? it looks surprisingly pink.

Yes, I played a little with the colour. I like how all the colour in the photo pops.
