How about a list of "Don't forget to do this free thing" for all of us to remember when we go to DLR!

1. Disney VISA free strollers! Show you card and get 2 free strollers. If you only need one, offer the other one to the nice family standing in line behind you! RAOK alert!!

2. Disney VISA free photos at DCA! Before 11:30, get a free character photo taken in Ariel's Grotto. You get 1 5/7 with each Disney VISA, so DH and I get 2! Even better! If you don't like that photo, you can use the voucher (which doesn't expire until 9/30/06!!!) on any other DCA photo!

3. Pilot the Mark Twain!!! Just run like crazy to the Captain's door.

4. Okay, it's not free, but don't miss Shrunken Ned's fortunes and Alladin's Other Lamp fortune tellers in the store across from the Jungle Cruise! For 50 cents you can see your future!!!

5. Ask for the front row! What's another 5 minute wait to get the best view!

6. In ToT, listen to the wailing wall on the second floor. It's at the last turn before you board the elevator, and the little girl in the wall talks if you listen.

Somebody add some stuff!! You all go way more than I do, and I need new stuff to look for!

Ice water in a cup is free at every restaurant inside DL and DCA.

The Grand CA Hotel has a refillable mug that is good at White Water Snacks (and maybe Storytellers). Not free but free refills.

DCA has free tortillas and french bread on the tours.

You can get free stickers at City Hall.

There is free cookie baking on Main St. (for the kiddos)

Nestle's Junior Chef is FREE!!! You're kidding!!!

See...live and learn! :yay:

The streetmosphere is nice to watch.

Taste Pilots has a build your own burger bar. Not free but one of the better burger deals in the resort.

Guide maps and invalid fast passes make for great scrapbooking

DTD has free parking for 3 hours, or 5 with validation from specific restaurants and the movie theater.

Red Rockets, Rancho del Zocolo and Plaza Inn all have free refills at time of purchase.

Coffee from Market House on Main St. can be refilled all day if you keep your receipt (not the cup, just the receipt)

Free beads from the singers in New Orleans Square.

Free picture emailed home at the end of Buzz Lightyear.

Free stuff if you do the Virtual Magic Kingdom quests.

Free medallion to the kid who gets chosen for the Sword in the Stone ceremony.

Free foam balls from Block Party Bash.

Free monorail co-pilot licenses if you ask nicely to ride in the front.

birthday stickers for young and old alike! Nothing like sharing your special day! :wizard:

Cheap:
Go to the Penny Arcade on Main St and get a fortune from Esmeralda, play with the machines for a unique experience- the band in the box is worth the pocket change!

Free certificates if you pilot the Mark Twain Riverboat.

Free Lockers at Grizzly River Run for 2 hours.
Free 'shower' at Grizzly River Run! :teeth:

Free balloon if you lose yours or if it pops. (if you show your receipt, and it is on the same day of purchase)

OH! I just love the DIS!

Thanks for all the freebie ideas! Never having been to DL, this is really great info for our first trip in June!

We did the Disney Visa character greeting at WDW and it is awesome! I had completely forgotten that it was being done at DL also! Woohoo!!

For the person who posted about the free bead and free foam balls...okay...I assume the beads are like the Mardi Gras ones...DS will love that! The foam balls? What are those and where exactly will I find them? Thanks for the extra info!

Keep the freebie ideas coming! I'm lovin' it!

The foam balls are thrown out at the party stops during the Block Party Bash parade. Just little nerf type balls, about the size of a tennis ball. The zones are marked, but you can always ask a CM where the stops are. There is a different area for Toy Story, Monsters Inc and Bugs Life.

Free refils of cold filtered water in the First Aid station at the end of main street. This is the only drinking fountain that is both cold and filtered. Also you can get free single doses of pain reliever, allergy medicine, band aids, etc.

As a bigger bonus, often there are characters hanging around waiting for their "show" time. We have had Mickey and Goofy all to ourselves a few times. The first time it happened my son told me that every day I had to have a headache just so we can try to catch someone there. That's a daily stop for us now.

The Happy Meals at Burger Invasion (McDonalds) have very nice prizes. Currently the late last year Disney Figures w/ a trading card. Last year we also got 6" Buzz, Woody, Mike & Sully figures. Probably would have sold for $5-10 at a store.

Free Drivers License at Autopia! (Good for scrapbooking DD's first drive)! AND she happened to win the free toy car from Chevron at the end of Autopia!

Free listing of all the Magical Memory coin locations around Disneyland -- City Hall I think.

From our bill we didn't find too many freebies while we there but we had a great time nonetheless!

Oh and we are still enjoying are free Buzz Lightyear photos (we emailed them all home and I printed them out!)

WOW! :thumbsup2 Thanks! I'll have to remember the first aid station!

But another question for ya...are the foam balls just regular ol' nerf kind or do they have some Disney design on them?

Thanks again!

If you go to the "Drawn To Animation" show in the Animation building in DCA (where Turtle Talk is also held), you get to draw a Disney character with the guidance of a Disney animator, then take home your drawing. The animator also gives his/her drawing away to an audience member at the end of the demonstration.

Not a freebie, but as an aside, I was there (Animation building) last Mon. and we saw *many* characters in the "courtyard"(lobby)--princesses, Minnie, Pluto, Chicken Little, Abby, Mad Hatter, Cruella, etc. It was not at all crowded, very easy to interact and get a lot of pictures.

I've read on the boards that if you ask, you can ride behind the engineers on the DL Railroad. I haven't tried it, but saw a couple of guests sitting there one time. There's room for 2.

You can sign up to have a videophone conversation with Stitch in the Innoventions building. It's interactive; he asks you questions, you ask him questions (like Turtle Talk). At the end, he takes your picture; you're given a code # and a web site to go to when you get home and can print/download your photo. It's really fun!

Yes, they are Mardi Gras beads. I'm not sure which groups give them away, but they don't hand out that many.

The foam balls shoot out of the big floats in Block Party Bash at the end of the show. Just wait by one of the tall floats and you should be able to grab one or two. The characters also toss a few into the crowd, but don't count on getting any that way. When we have nothing better to do, my wife and I have followed the parade around to catch more balls. When I get extras, I usually give them to kids who didn't manage to catch one.

They aren't quite the size of tennis balls. They're closer to golf balls. Nerf is printed on one side and Block Party Bash is on the other side. Nothing that special. They come in red, green, blue, yellow, and maybe some other colors.

Toddlers get a free Mickey Sticker from the Baby Center. Change a child, have toddler use the small toilets- get two stickers. You can also get these stickers at the information stands.

Birthday Stickers at the information stands as well as city hall.

At the end of the day we have seen Whitewater Snacks give away all their baked goods for free.

Fast Passes are free and you can scrap them if you don't use them.

WOW! That I have never seen!

Gotta second the Autopia cars--we got three of them during our December trip--not chintzy little metal cars, either. Nice freebie!
