Post your Deal... Rental Car Codes August

Not sure where I found this code, I believe on mousesavers but for a week at the end of August for a mid size is only 134.00. This is with a free extra driver unlimited mileage, etc. Plus you add coupons and it totals to a price of 172 for a week in a mid size. I used it with a $20 off entertainment coupon and got a compact for 114 for the week of 8/22 thru 8/29. Happy with that rate.
I have been using this code for over a year, maybe it has been two,and we rent often and have had no problems. My computer saves all of the codes that I use and all I have to do is put in the first character and I always go thru the whole list. It may have been from a year or two years ago from mousesavers.
Sorry - this is Alamo

Wow - what a great rate! Good for you! What rental car company did you use? Do you remember which offer from mousesavers? Any codes??? I am looking at mid August which I think is is more pricey. For 3 days it is about the same rate that you have for a week, and for a week more like in the $300's - wish I could find a great rate like the one you have, I am sure others would too. Any more info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Keep posting, any great deals out there????

I am getting a very very good rate with 7014266 - I cant find it on Mousesavers though..can you remember where it is from?

If possible, please post the Rental Car Company you found your best deal with the code to share. Many thanks in advance for your contributions to this thread! Keep on posting....???

Thanks! Just booked mine with Alamo with same code and entertainment book coupon. Total with taxes for midsize $155.98!!:yay: With just one week to go!!!

I would be careful with the 7014266 code. Yes it gives good rates, but it also includes all insurance. Usually that means its for foreign visitors or travel agents.

Edited: actually did some digging, that code is another one of the "questionable" codes, most people are saying it is for South American travelers and many are being denied rentals without a passport

I have never taken the insurance option when renting a car with the 7014266 code. yes if you use it you will be using it at your own risk. I have never had a problem and I have probably used it atleast 5 times in Orlando and Albany.

I booked with Advantage for 8 days at the end of August..midsize for $182. While it's not my first choice for car rental we have used them before and not had any problems. If something better doesn't come up between now and Aug we'll be fine with it because we really prefer to have a car.

Just used Dollar code OOAG (valid only in FL) and I was able to get a Premium SUV (Dodge Durango). From 9/24-9/29 I am paying $229 per week with unlimited mileage out of MCO.

This knocks over $100 off our 9 nt. stay in Aug/Sept. I'm a little leery since usually these are special codes that include all insurances.
If this is for S.Americans, why should they get a car so cheap and charge US cititzens triple that price?

I have been wondering about this since last year when I first heard about these codes for other countries!:confused3 It is beyond me, but I don't understand why they would offer Europeans such great rates while US citizens pay more when our dollar was only worth about .46 to the Euro at the time! It was already like getting everything for half price!

Before I get flamed here, I don't have anything against Europeans or anyone else, for that matter! I just don't understand the logic behind it.

Maybe people from other countries are less likely to rent a car because they don't have licenses that are valid in the US. So for those that have a valid international license they get a good discount? Just a thought.

I gotta agree. The rates for Europeans/British is a steal considering they already are at an advantage with the Euro/Pound exchange rate. I qualify for the rate only due to my residency, but since our income is American dollar based, we are not getting that great deal. I also reserved almost a year ago and based on my priority needs, my regular US citizen military code got me a better overall rate. The prices were half price back then, so the comparison was about equal.

Also, I found that for other locations (another state), that European code, while it gave insurance and paid all fees, they also tacked on a $200 drop fee that was not charged to US citizens. So, depending on where they rent, they might end up paying the same or more. My one day US citizen AAA rate was something like $90 and the European rate with insurance was almost $300. Do the math and the European with the great exhange rate still did not get a good deal.

With the Alamo 7011111 code I just got a car for $264 from August 14-23 instead of the regular rate of $563. Both those prices include taxes and fees. Better than any prices I've found with codes yet.

Edit: Its for a midsize car, but the other sizes are very reasonable with the code, too

Where is this code from? Thanks!

I'm not sure quite honestly. I found it on this thread on a previous entry. There is another thread where a lady used it who is going in 2 weeks and will report when she gets back.

No one seems to know.
It includes free insurance so chances are, it's not for the general public.
I'd hate to look like a jack a** in front of my kids trying to use we shouldn't be.

The lines are long enough. I know if I was stuck behind somebody who wanted to waste MY vacation time waiting for them to argue over a code they do not qualify would really make me lose my patience and sorry, but I would have no problem telling that person so. I would politely ask the employee to have that person step aside so that those of us who qualify for our codes can begin our vacation. Imagine having your kids hear that.

I too would never use a code I do not qualify. Like you, not worth it to look bad in front of my kid and I don't want the rest of the line behind me to become impatient and hurl nasty comments.
