I am going to be making a count down for our wdw vacation pretty soon and I am looking for some inspiration...so please post your count downs here!

A few years ago, I went to the local Home Depot and grabbed a whole bunch of the Mickey paint chips (in all different colors). When I got home, I numbered them and now I use them each year as my count down. And, when I get down to 60 days, I do a weekly Disney Dance. :banana:Then, when I get down to 30 days, I do a daily Disney Dance. :cool1:My grands think I am totally nuts...but they always join in the Disney Dances. :lmao:

I've seen paint chip ones, but I'm not comfortable stealing them from the store...so, I used a punch I bought and punched out Mickey ones. I happened to have a pocket chart (I'm a teacher) I wasn't using, but I see them at Target a couple of times per year also. I let the kids flip over a card that says we're going..

My friend does a chain ring and lets the girls pull a link off...apparently she made it Mickey colors the first time (red, yellow, blue) and then the next time she made it actually look like Mickeys.

I didn't realize that taking something that was there to be taken for free was considered stealing.:confused3

I ended up drawing out a calendar of sorts with the numbers counting down, I bought the mickey head punch and I am going to punch out paper so my dd can cover a space each day (I have some MH paint chips from last year but I figure I will use the punch for scrapbooking anyway, so it was a good purchase for me) and I got her tons of stickers to decorate the border of the calendar. I did it all on a piece of posterboard.

I used wooden blocks that I got at AC Moore. I decoupaged squares of disney themed paper to each side, then added numbers, and mickey heads on some since I didn't use all of the sides for numbers. I used 4 blocks to make sure I could get all the number combos I need...

In 2010 when I was overflowing with excitement about an upcoming trip to Disney, I made this countdown (here's a blog post about it).

I used a Mickey head punch on some red and black cardstock I had sitting around. The fist few ones were all red until I realized I just wanted to do the 5s and 0s in red. It helped get a sense of the days visually. I used my favorite white pen to write the numbers and put a ring binder through holes I punched. I hung it on the fridge and my DD and I pulled off a head a day until there were none!

Thanks! We're 185 days away from our next trip, so it's a little too early to get started, but I'm trying to think of a different one for this trip.
