Is it possible that the SPD total cost is a little higher because the memory picture pack is included?

How do you know if the memory picture pack is included? Do you have to call to get it removed?

Hello.

I have 2 Adults and 4 Children - only one child under 9. Pricing at off-site hotels / condos / town houses is fairly straight forward. Offsite lodging is very inexpensive. However, anytime I've checked Disney Resort pricing, my immediate reaction has been one of shock and amazement. Some of the pricing I see listed here is not as bad as I would have thought, especially considering that some of these prices include park tickets, which are pretty expensive for a group of 5 individuals over 9.

What advice could anyone lend in finding pricing on a Disney Resort for 6 in early June?

Any advice is appreciated, including recommendations, buying points (this does not seem cheap) or negotiating a deal. I'm usually okay at the latter, but not in this complicated environment.

Thanks!

Most of the deals posted here are from a Disney late winter discount which includes either a room only discount (certain percentage off rack rate of the resort) or a deal called Stay, Play, and Dine, which is a percentage discount off an entire package including park tickets and the dining plan. These deals don't apply to trips in June. You can check this page: http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/ to see a list of historical discounts for the past few years to see what you might expect for a June vacation. None of these are guaranteed for 2015, but if you see the same discount 3 or 4 years in a row, chances are pretty good that something similar will be available for the next year.

Beyond just waiting for these official Disney deals to come out, another option for you might be renting DVC points and using them for your stay. Check this site for DVC point prices: http://www.dvcrequest.com/dvc-members.asp

If you're looking to take a Disney vacation on a budget, the entire MouseSavers website can be a good resource. I think it's hard to argue that a Disney vacation is ever "cheap," but there are things you can do to make it more affordable for your family. You might also check out the budget board here on Disboards.

Happy bargain hunting!

Jamieann,

Thanks for this information. David's Vacation Club Rentals was choke full of very useful information. A very easy-to-use website, well designed, with USEFUL tools. By using his tools it is clear to me now how rates vary by month and by week. It is also VERY clear that lodging on a Disney Resort takes a huge leap higher in cost when your a family of 6. Those are the breaks.

There are just so many non Disney rentals for a family of 6 at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks again. I finally feel like I'm getting some real traction on understanding the pricing structures in place.

1. Number in party : 5 Adults, 1 child (7), and 2 infants.
2. Dates : Jan 24 to Feb 7th. (14 nights, 15 days)
3. Resort and room type : POR - royal guest room
4. Discount used (SPD or room only): SPD
5. Park tickets + options (park hopper, etc.) 10 day ticket + park hopper
6. Total cost : 5386.11.

My goald was to get it under 5500$ since I'm on mat leave this year, so I'm pretty happy! :cool1:

4 Adults
2/1/15-2/6/15
AoA Lion King Suite
SPD Discount
3 Day Base Tickets (Heading over to US/IoA for the other 2)
$3052

I'm pleased.
Original pricing was around $3600, so I saved about $450.
I got the PIN for the RO discount, but it was $500ish more.

My SO and I are taking my sister and her SO, who have never been.
She had originally wanted to be an animator when she was a little girl, so the choice of AoA is awesome.

I'll second the Orbitz idea for you.

I know, unsolicited advice :)

No problem! Guests definitely pay a premium for staying on Disney property. It's just my husband and I for now, so it's do-able, but I'm sure we'll have to re-evaluate as our family grows.

2 Adults
POFQ Bounceback-FD
6 Nights/7 Days
6 Day Base Tickets
Sept. 19-Sept. 25=
$1915.94

Flights will probably end up being around $250 or a little less, each=$500
Parking our car at Newark Long Term=$65
Dog Boarding (including a bath)=$300
Tips (restaurants, mousekeeping, RAC, Magical Express Driver, bell services, parking lot shuttle driver, etc.=$150.00

Total=$2930+ I didn't count spending money, since it's just two adults this time we'll probably dump a couple hundred on drinks and tee shirts (maybe), no major souvenirs. And, since we both quit smoking a few years ago and save over $5000 a year not buying cigs, the trip is basically FREE. :worship:
