Wondering if anyone else who was in the world this past week thought it was busier than normal for this time of year? I’ll be honest, I haven’t been in almost 10 yrs, but used to come around the same time occasionally. The crowds last week just seemed heavier than I recall and I actually thought I read estimates to be lower than in years past. Not ranting or complaining - honestly just curious!

If you have not been in 8-10 years then I believe the crowds would feel heavier to what you experienced that week 10 years ago but last week crowds were about the lowest you’ll experience at WDW now.
Wow…thank you for your response. I really thought I had read and heard differently. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Good to know!

Agree with @scrappinginontario. We were there 9/3-10. We’ve been going in early September for about 20 years. Back then, you could literally walk up to an empty ride line & step directly onto the ride. Rides like Pirates you’d have a half empty boat. Now you walk up to a less than 10 minute wait, the ride vehicles will all be full. It’s still the slowest time of the year, but not anything like it was 10 years ago.

We were in parks 9-5 -9-7 and i thought they were busy. We bought Multipass for MK so we had timed rides, and it was a party day, so we found crowds a little lighter, but we didn't wait as much but in Animal kingdom only rides, I didn't wait more than 1 hour for was Everest somehow, I managed a 20 min wait and Safari was 45 min wait. I got on FOP early we rope dropped and had early entry and was 30 min wait but later in day we thought about re-riding, and it was at 70 min. I tend to go after school is back in session and don't remember having waits into 1hr or more.

We have gone every year in September since 2004 (except 2020). Each year I make a comment that the crowds are getting bigger each year. It is never too horribly crowded but it continues to grow.

They just extended park hours for much of September — some parks opening and/ or closing 30-60 minutes later — so projections must have increased.

Up until the early 2000s, attendance in September and October was so poor that the parks would open between 9AM-10AM (World Showcase even later) and close between 5PM and 6PM. In those days, they were open much later than they are today during peak periods (MK typically closed at 12AM, and 2AM during special events).
