Post Tour "Incentives"

Have seen several mentions of the post tour incentives, and was wondering what they might include, or if they exist. thanks

They "offered" me preffered APR of 9.75% with direct debit for 3 days after our vacation ended. I'm sure though they'd offer me that still if I called them. Oh, yeah. a sundae too!

Don't be surprised if they don't honor that offer. DVC is pretty good about sticking to their special offers. Once the period has passed that is pretty much it.

We toured in Spring of 05 and were offered the 9.95% financing, 8$ per point rebate, and 05 points. Did not sign.

I called back in Spring of 06 and we were offered:
9.95% financing, 12$ per point rebate, and 06 points. We signed.

We were also offered a second incentive promotional called "Magical Beginnings" that I did not like or understand. Somehow you sold back your first year points and it lowered the 10% down part? I don't know. We were not offered anything like that in 2005.


I don't know if the incentive would have been withdrawn if less time had passed or not - but a year later the DVC people seemed more than willing to offer us a variety of incentives and we ended up with a slightly better package than what was offered when we first toured.

Yup, they had some deal beginning of the year that was 15% off vs the 10% off ... but you ended up with a later use year I think ...

For the Magical beginnings, I think they gave you like $5 / pt credit for selling them back your first years points.

We got 4 meal vouchers in April 2005.

When we purchased back in 1995 we got free tickets (parkhoppers) to the theme parks (anytime we visited ...2 for a studio, 4 for a 1 bedroom, 6 for a 2 bedroom etc) until the year 2000. We made GOOD use of that incentive!

We got 4 fastpasses and were offered a sundae. This was my second tour with this guide, I toured with him 7yrs prior and I don't think he thought I would ever buy...SURPRISE EDWIN I sure did and I didn't even need a sundae to do it.

We toured in June 05 and were offered 9.95%, $8 per point and all of 05 points. We gave a 500.00 deposit and they held the offer until we finally decided in September to buy. If we said no, we would have gotten our 500.00 back. We also got a free sundae AND $100 voucher just for taking the tour.

Is this a great company or what?
