when I was born, WW2 had just ended & Harry Truman was president.
I grew up watching Kukla, Fran and Ollie; Fury & My Friend Flicka; Winkie Dink and You;Mr. Wizard; Let's take a Trip; Captain Midnight; Sky King; Rooty Kazooty and Crusader Rabbit among others. Tinker Toys and Erector sets were top selling toys and we used to go to Drive-in Movies. We had a milk man, a laundry truck and a bakery truck that used to serve all the homes where we lived in Miami, Fla.
I remember the beginning of rock and roll when songs like Earth Angel , Rock Around the Clock and Sh Boom were popular and a young man from Tupelo, Mississippi came on the scene in 1956 with Heartbreak Hotel.
I saw the episode on Ozzie and Harriet which I believe was a Halloween episode when Ricky Nelson dressed as Elvis and he sang a few lines from Love Me Tender and within a couple months he was to sing" I'm Walking" and "A Teenagers Romance"on his parents TV series, thus launching his recording career.
