I am debating whether or not to have my make up professionally done on my wedding day. I have Beaute Speciale booked for my hair but I was going to do my own make up.
Now I'm not so sure. You see, I have troublesome skin, and I like to think I am a bit of a pro at taming it. I usually wear a lot of make up, and the stuff I use is quite expensive.
I quite like the idea of being pampered on my wedding day, and not have to worry about a make up disaster!
But... at my friends wedding recently I had my make up done and I hated it, and I don't want to feel like that on my wedding day. :confused3

So to help me decide, could you please post pics of you all made up for your wedding. Maybe a before and after pic? :thumbsup2

I went with Ana also. We got married in November of last year (that sounds so funny). We were down in WDW in may and did a trial and I was very happy. Here are some photos of me while being made up and then the final product.

I used beaute special for hair/makeup and dont regret it one bit!!!! I was such a bundle of nerves on my wedding day I would never have been able to get my own makeup done. I have pretty troublesome skin too, but they did an awesome job with it!!!

Me all done up:

I was going to do it myself as well but I'm so glad I had ana come and do my hair and makeup.

They were so great on the day and even helped me get in my dress.

I'm having them again when we go this year for our magic kingdom reshoot

Oh you will love Ana, she is amazing.

She listened to everything I told her.I said I love my eyelashes full, normally when people do my makeup they make my eyelashes so thin...I have thick full eyelashes so I wanted them full lol.

I also told her that I wanted my blue eyes to pop and i think she did a great job making them pop.

You will be in good hands with her. I say this all the time, I'm a stlyist so I know a good one when I see one. Tell her what you want. She will listen!!

ETA- She also did a great job with my eyebrows. I use MAC makeup and that is what she uses so I had the eyebrow powder I use (my eyebrows are a tiny bit lighter than my hair color so I use a powder just to define them a little bit and to make my eyes pop out) and I asked her to use it..she was actually going to use that color for me anyway lol.

I went with Patricia LeJeune.

I am also *extremely* picky about my makeup and was very scared I would look like a 1980s beauty queen on my wedding day. Plus, my skin is so fair that there is no foundation on the market light enough to blend with it. So I explained all my likes and dislikes, and she created exactly the look I wanted: done, but not over-done. The airbrush makeup was perfect for my pale complexion.

Wow you do all look great, I think you've convinced me!

Does she use lots of different colours and things on your eyes, and concealer on your spots and stuff? At my friends wedding we literally had foundation, one shade of eye shadow, bright pink lipstick and a tiny bit of mascara! And I'm like you Lynn, I have big eye lashes and I wanted them BIG!

So she uses MAC make up? Do you think she would use my own foundation?

I wear makeup every day. I am not a fan of MAC, and I use Lauria Mercier for everything. Ana uses Mac but is actually incorporating other products because MAC has changed their formula.

This is the only close up pic I really have til I get all my pro ones. I wanted vintage glam. And while I wear make up every day, I wanted a littl emore oopmh on my wedding. But I still wanted to look like me! I have smaller almond shaped eyes so a true smoky eye makes it look smaller. This is what Ana did and I would not change a thing. She did use fake eyelashes on me and i loved it!

She comes in with a suitcase of stuff!!!Every color of the rainbow. there is no limit on what she uses- she just wants to make it right.

I thought about using my own foundation since I love Laura Mercier but I decided to go with hers since she knows it and I fgured it would be easier for her to work with it.

Yes if you tell her that you want her to use your own foundation she will. Tell her you want the thick full lashes. She will listen. She comes with a ton of makeup lol... I did tell her to use what colors she thought best and to just make the blue eyes pop.

Before-- This was on 4th of July, so a little over a month before. And ignore the sad face. I wasn't feeling well and was being attacked by bugs at a BBQ.

Morning of the wedding. Beaute Speciale (Ana and Lilly) came. I told them I wanted everything VERY natural and simple since I don't wear makeup often. They were spot on. I'm sure they would do a GREAT job for you, whatever you want. I'd suggest that if you have a look you like (like how you do it yourself), bring pictures and ask them to do their best to match that. I don't think it'd be a problem.

For both my trial and the actual day I had Ana use my own eyeliner and mascarra. I use Mary Kay waterproof eyeliner (which I love) and Clinique mascarra (it's their new one - not sure of the name). I told both Ana and Lily that I wanted to use these and they had no problem with it. Ana also used false eyelashes (just in the outer corners). We tried them for my trial in May and then they told me to bring them back for our wedding.

We used Anna from beaute special. Anna did a great job. I had gotten a black eye the day before the wedding and Anna did a great job covering it up!

wanted to add, i have allergies to anything near my eyes, they get red, swell up, i almost can't open them. I brought my own mascara for the wedding day and Ana had no prob using it!! They're great to work with!
