Post-embarkation Dining Q

Upon embarking, is there a dining option open other than Topsiders? Our experience is that first buffet is the worst food of the entire cruise (and, after taking the galley tour, having an excellent explanation why. . .but that’s not part of this thread), as well as packed with everybody cramming to gorge themselves. Is either Parrot Cay or Tritons (or Lumiere’s) open during recent trips?

Parrot Cay is much nicer to eat at upon boarding.

Parrot Cay also had a buffet lunch. We enjoyed it very much. It seemed to have a few more options than Topsiders.

We were one of the first ones on the ship and were directed to deck 9. I asked about going to Parrot Cay and was told it was not ready. I asked how long and was told 20 minutes. We walked back to Parrot Cay prepared to wait but they took us straight in and everything was ready. I knew from reading these boards that Parrot Cay was the better choice. Later in the day, I did see them turning people away from Parrot Cay as it was full.
