Actually, the best time (without actually being in the World) is about the last month BEFORE you get there--the anticipation really mounts. Right now, I have to settle for just being giddy that we reached 40 degrees today.

I have also gone to Disney on Ice for a mini-fix. Visiting the DISboards helps a bit too. You can also look at the restaurant menus and plan where you would get an ADR to next whenever you go to WDW next. Oh helping someone else plan a trip is fun too.
