That post card has cost me a bundle LOL!!!
I had planned to go to WDW for four nights in October, and stay at CBR. I booked the room and paid the deposit at full rack rate (hoping for a discount, but knowing that I could afford the full price if I had to). When I got my email, I changed to the discount rate--great! Two days later, my granddaughter (4 years old!) got a postcard, and her family decided that they would go in December, since they couldn't get away in October. Well, DH and I decided to change to four nights in December instead, and to change to Pop Century instead of CBR to be with them. Then, four nights didn't seem to be enough, so we decided to do a whole week (who could pass up that $49.00 price?). Since son and his family were planning on paying for four nights anyway, we said "Merry Christmas...stay for the other three nights on us!"
Then, DH mentioned that it would be a shame to go to WDW in December without going on a
DCL cruise (we've done that the last two years), so with the money we saved on the hotel, we decided to book a four-night cruise. I'm so used to booking a land/sea package that I figured on a price for a Cat. 11 for the cruise at that rate (OK, so I don't think too clearly on the weekend). I just booked the cruise, and for the price I had in my head I was able to get a Cat. 7! I'm not telling DH until we open the door of the room on the "wrong" side of the hallway on the ship that we'll have a Navigator's Verandah. This way, he gets a Christmas present too!
