I just copied and pasted from another thread:

Also, starting on December 19, 2007, eligible participants can enter without being present in a Disney Property by hand-writing their full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and date of birth on a piece of paper or postcard and sending it with proper postage affixed to: P.O. Box 8650, Elmhurst, IL 60126, USA or if a legal resident of the UK: 2008 Disney Dreams Giveaway,483 Green Lanes, Suite 200, London N13 4BS, England. Limit one mail-in entry per person per day during the Giveaway Period. All mail-in entries must be mailed separately, postmarked on or between December 19, 2007 and December 31, 2008 and received by January 14, 2009 or they will be void.

Can we use computer labels for the address to sent the cards?

I have used computer labels to address my 2007 cards all year long...and won a ton of ears and lanyard sets...so I would not see why it would be any different for 2008....however, I DO hand-write my name, address, etc. as was requested in the rules. Good Luck!!

I used pre-printed labels for all parts of the cards this year. The only part I hand-wrote was the date. I won over 20 hats and about 6 lanyards.

There was nothing specifically in the rules last year about hand writing anything. Unfortunately for 2008, the rules DO specifically state that the cards need to be hand written. Big bummer, and a huge waste of time IMHO. But if they want fewer participants by cards, this will likely be effective. Can't blame them, but it stinks for those that can't be at WDW very frequently.

You are correct...it does not say that on the 2007 rules any longer...it did at the beginning of the promotion (back in Oct/Nov of 2006) because I debated on whether or not to participate "religiously" due to this stipulation...I did slack off for awhile in July, Aug, & Sept (sending in cards that is) because I think I have "writer's cramp" from hand writing all of those cards for so long...now I find out that I did not have to do it!! :headache: Oh well, I guess all of my ears and lanyards were worth it! Maybe they will drop this stipulation for 2008 as well...thanks for the heads-up, it will save me some time in the future. :thumbsup2

So reading this we could actually write our info on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope rather than a postcard - am I reading that correctly?

Yes it seems so. The 2007 was not listed like that, it stated postcard only! I always took my cards inside the PO and handed them to the clerk, it made me a bit nervous to have full name, address/number, and DOB sitting in our mailbox awaiting pickup! That would alleviate that worry, but would cost substancially more to mail each entry, so that is a tough decision for me! :confused3

Wow... lucky you! :woohoo: Congrats! Can you send a lucky thought my way? :rotfl:

Wow, thanks for the information and congrats to all who have won!

So now the complete address to mail them and our information must be hand written? No more labels for their address? Dang, talk about writer cramps.

Does anyone know if the rules permit postcards that are larger (or smaller than 3"x5"? If I remember correctly, I think the original YOMD rules stated that they had to be of that size. I couldn't find any p.c. around here that weren't either 3-1/2" w or anything but the size they listed....which was aggravating-because 3x5 is a standard size. :confused3
