Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

I got an email from Southwest that said my flight is eligible for a flight credit. The offer said that I could change my flight for no charge, but I would lose any "extras" (in my case, EBCI) and I would receive a flight credit good for 1 year. Since my plans are relatively flexible (this is for my return flight), I was intrigued, so I clicked on the offer. The flight that they are offering to switch me to is the next day! And to compensate me for my flexibility, they will offer me a flight credit of......$20! Stop traffic! :rotfl2: Um, no thanks. I'll stick with my original plans. That's laughable. The odd thing is that I actually wanted to add that last night to our trip in the first place, but $20? That's not even enough to cover the cost ofthe EBCI that I would forfeit if I took the offer! C'mon, Southwest...you can do better.

We get those offers all the time from other airlines as well.

Southwest has had a sale just after Christmas in the past. I hope they do that again this year because our March trip dates are still very expensive.
I hope so as I’m waiting to book my April and May dates. My March 3 fligh home went from 14,000 points down to 5,500 points! My Feb 24th flight to MCO dropped from 11,000 to 7,000. Now both those flights have more than doubled.

Our flight home on March 4 has remained very high. I just checked the seating chart and a huge amount of the standard seats are gone. There must be a high school band or some other group taking those seats. So, even if the price dropped, I would have to buy an expensive seat in order to avoid the back of the plane. :(

I have the SW premier credit card. I purchased Choice tickets for a March flight. I was able to select preferred seats for $20 more because of my SW cc. That is a lot cheaper than the additional $70 it cost for Choice preferred. I didn't know that it was an option.

I didn’t either. I know you can upgrade to those for free at 48 hours, but didn’t know you could purchase them upfront for a discount.

I remember wondering if this would be the case because they were pretty vague at just saying "for free subject to availability at 48 hours" (paraphrasing here). It left the other option being purchase it but they didn't really go over the rules of that.

I have the priority and it looks like the discount applies as well to the extra legroom seats if choosing the upgrade option on an already booked flight.

I'm being quoted $32 for middle or $34 for Window or Aisle extra legroom if I don't want to play the game at 48 hours from departure.

I'm glad they are putting that in writing like above to make that much clearer for people potentially look at upgrading
