Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

I'm sure the answer is buried in here somewhere...

If I book a SW flight using my Capital One Venture card (even though I have the SW Visa Card), will I still get a free checked bag?

I have about $800 worth of Capital One rewards I can use towards a flight, but only about 10K SW RR points so I was thinking about purchasing one was witht the CapOne card and the other way using my RR points. I don't think I have to use the RR Visa to book the trip, it just has to be linked to my RR account right?

Has anyone transferred points from one RR account to another user? How fast do the points show up? AI says it could take 72 hours. The flight we want just dropped but my wife is a bit short on points. I can transfer her what she needs.

If it does take 72 hours, what about purchasing points? How quickly does that show up?

ETA: There was a sale on pts so we went ahead an purchased them. The points showed up immediately and we were able to get the flight we wanted. :)

It used to be 12 months from the date you purchased the ticket, for years it was that way so for some they ran into really tight timeline to use it since it was purchase date of the ticket not the flight date of the ticket.

We all just got used to the credits not expiring and it's a raw deal we've been given to have had only for a few years credits not expiring and then now back again.

But I do think the 6 months from the purchase date is just really tight, it could leave mere weeks to use the credit if someone bought it at release day for example if the dates were for 5 or so months in the future.
Can anyone assist me with this question? My sister has travel funds expiring in a few months that are transferable. Are there pros or cons as to whether it is better to buy her niece's ticket using the funds as opposed to transferring them to her niece to buy her own ticket? Am I overthinking this? :thanks:

She can't use funds that are in her name to buy someone else's ticket. Whoever's name is on the travel funds must be the named traveler at time of purchase.

She will have to transfer the funds to niece's name. Then, either of them can buy the ticket, just making sure to apply the confirm number at time of purchase to redeem the travel funds.
