Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

Just got hit with the dreaded flight change for our August flight. Went from a perfect 10:25am direct to a 6:30am direct. Not the end of the world but still annoying.

Our August flights changed today, too. I have flown with SW since they took over Airtran and I have never had flight times change. I am super bummed - we had a perfect nonstop from MSP. Getting in at like 1230, etc. Coming back, all the flights have stupid long or stupid short layovers.

They moved us to a 6am with 2 stops, not getting to MCO until mid afternoon. Sigh.

I have been playing around with the schedule a bit this morning and I think I found what we are going to do, but since it is shorter trip, i am just nervous with losing what little time we have there. WTH, Southwest :)

Thats a tough change and hopefully you can figure out a good flight to change too. At least our change is still non-stop.

There was still a non stop for us, but it put us almost 8 hours later into MCO and with such a short trip, I was not cool with it.

All rescheduling done, now have to go through Nashville and Chicago, so... small price to pay to maintain the same amount of hours in our happy place!

Our August flight out of Hartford changed too. Still nonstop and the changes actually are better for us since we are traveling with a baby. Usually I’m not happy with the changes but for once it’s ok. Just hope there are no more.

Our Aug flight was changed too. We would have arrived only about an hour later but I took advantage of the option to change flights for free and rather than spend the night before our 6AM flight at an airport hotel, we’re flying into Orlando the night before!! If I have to spend a night in a hotel I’ll happily take Pop Century over an airport hotel in Buffalo!

Our August flight was adjusted yesterday as well. Flying out super early in the AM? No thanks SWA, not how I like to begin my vacations. Heading to Disneyland, I easily switched us online from LGB arrival to a much more advantageous SNA arrival. Still a non-stop, arriving one hour earlier. So I'm actually very happy with this change!

Ours was also changed yesterday. Getting in 2 hours later and leaving 3.5 earlier. We don't do a park on travel days, although I originally did give it a thought on arrival day. Not now. Fingers crossed for no more changes.

I saw an article a while back that SWA was adding USB charger ports to the Max8 plane seatbacks. We fly from LAS to HNL for our Aulani trip in September and was wondering if that has been done or if we need to pack portable chargers.

Our flights from Oakland to Kauai and Kauai to Vegas in March had them.

They changed my flights the other day but what they don't know is they actually made my day!

I had found the deal of a lifetime $130 round trip per person.
The flights were not the best but they were ok enough.

On Tuesday evening I got 2 emails. Both of my flights were changed and if I was not happy with the new times I could choose another flight at no additional fee.
So I went from having a long layover on the way there to a non stop.
And went from having an extremely early non stop flight back to a much more reasonable non stop flight back.

I just got another email changing my return flight. But this one I'm good with. Went from a 2pm flight to 12:15.

Our August flights changed today. We were able to change our flight time at no additional cost, which was nice. The flight home only changed by ten minutes, so no big deal.

Our Labor Day flight coming back home changed also, but for the better. Originally it was to depart MCO at 6:40 am, which was way too early, but it was the only nonstop option. Now it’s departing at 9:30 am so that’s a little better!!

Our Aulani flight home from HNL to BNA also changed, but we only lost 5 minutes during our layover at LAS. So now we have a 50 min layover instead of 55 min. I am already nervous about it being so short and having any sort of delays and getting stranded, so this isn’t ideal.

Like others our flights have changed. Ours are to Houston and we are visiting family so while not ideal the changes don’t impact us all that much.

I do have a question though. Anyone know how to get a flight credit if you change to a flight that’s cheaper? Since they allow you to change twice for free. We want to change to a different flight from the one offered, but it’s $34 cheaper than our original flight we had booked.

I was going to cancel, then rebook. But how’s that work with ebci? Would the credit go back to the credit card we booked it with, or would the ebci be a flight credit then have to pay again with a credit card for it?

Is the best option changing flights three times? Twice for free, then the third for a credit?

In my experience with this, if you call to make the change, you can explain that new flight is cheaper and they should also help you get a travel fund credit.

Our flights in early September changed late last night too. Not super happy with the new times. I happened to check JetBlue, they are $98 for nonstop at better times. We like JetBlue & really prefer to have assigned sets. We’ll pay for 1 checked bag & each take a carry on. Planning to get their credit card when I see a high bonus point offer to cover bags in the future.

My DIL sent me an article from the points guy, SW is raising rates for EBCI & upgraded boarding. I think we’ll be flying JB more often from now on. It gives me anxiety not knowing where we’ll be sitting & not really saving anything with them anymore.

Replying to myself here just in case anyone is in the same boat ever. I ended up just booking the two free changes, then changed to the flight I was looking at the third time, and I got the credit. There were two flights that fit our ideal schedule so I went between the two of them to try. Figured if it didn’t work out I’d be happy with either one.

I was going to call, but wasn’t sure of how long that would take. Took me a couple minutes to do it online.

So if you get schedule change notice and go ahead and select a different flight that is less than what you paid for your ticket are you supposed to get a credit ? I’ve noticed when you change your flight the screen doesn’t show prices of flights.
